Another day but....

My depression is getting worse. I know the rain and lack of sunshine isn't helping any.Not to mention I can't be outside.  I go to the Dr. Monday and I always get a vitamin B injection while I'm there. They seem to help me a lot.

I hope everyone is doing well and winning the battle of addiction. Recovery is much nicer. (no kidding, huh?? I'll be back in a little bit. Do laundry and the dryer just stopped. See what an exciting life I lead??

Take Care......LS

I just wanted to send you love and hugs and prayers.  This too shall pass.  God, when I was at my worst and my sponsor would say that to me I wanted to punch her but it is true.

Hi doll.. sorry you are feelin down...

Are you on any anti-depressants?  I'm not a big proponent of the "quick fix" of anti-depressants, when .. life happens (I think we need to try to process) BUT, that said, I do believe there are times they can be could for the short term.  One of those times being, coming of drugs...

I actually started reading my bible at night again, btw, and a couple other "spiritual" books I have.. that seems to lift me up.

Some people say, too, just by the act of smiling - the physical act - you actually FEEL better.  The cart before the horse.. but I've done it sometimes.. and it works!

Feel good soon, friend...

After ready what you guys had to say how could I not feel better?? You're all amazing. I got here late because I had to download an antivirus. I wish I could have been here sooner.

Ga Guy....You're right about keeping busy. My hobby is target shooting. Since I was a little girl my dad taught me all the things I needed to know about gun safety. I'm on a women's pistol team and teach a gun safety course. Since my surgeries on my arm I can no longer shoot my favorite gun. A .357 but I got a Lady Smith 5 shot and I can handle it with one hand. I miss my dad. We lost him in Feb. 2005. It's really cool that you're building your own guitar. Take pictures! As for spanish, that was my first language. lol  Mexicans don't speak formal spanish. It's kind of a slang, really. Thanks for offering your help. I may have to take you up on it......

pheggie....I'm sorry about your accident, but you do have good taste. You had it on a Harley. My ex- hubby has a 1976 bicentennial Liberty edition super glyde. I spent 12 summers on the back of that thing and loved it. You're NOT a wuss. You have very real pain. I was on vicodin after my surgeries and since it had real pain to work on I didn't get addicted to it and I never got high on it. Give yourself time to heal. Your body has been through hell. Thanks for responding to my post. It means a lot to me.....

Jimmy.....You're wise. You plan on doing what I did. I'm clean now but I want to stay and put back into the forum some of the help I got from it. I would never have kicked my addiction to fentanyl pain patches without this forum. We're supposed to have sunshine on the weekend finally and I'll feel better when I can get outside. I have been following your post and it makes me happy to see you racking up the days clean.....

Hugs to all of you.......LS

I'm sorry you're having a down day. I wish there was something I could say that would make you feel better. You know what I've done to fight my depression? I found a hobby. Yeah, I know it sounds lame, but I made a list of things I've always wanted to do. I'm already a writer, so that takes up most of my day. I also love the guitar. So, I took a guitar making class. I'm actually making an acoustic guitar. It may end up being used as a planter for ferns, but I'm giving it a go. The class itself helped a lot, too. Nice to be around people and out of the house. So, try it. Whatcha got to loose? Find a local tech school and take a continuing education course for something you like. Photography, stained glass making, spanish, cooking classes.Maybe even donate time to some charity. Anything! I can tell by your posts that you have so much to give. You sound like such a wonderful person. you'd be an asset to any charity or class. Hope you feel better soon...If I can ever be of help..I'm here!!
