Did I just prolonging my withdrawl it?

I am at the end of day 2 cold turkey off of 80mg to 100mg norco.  Today I was out and about trying to get my mind off of the detox and starting to feel really really bad (obviously).  I took a half (5mg) that I found in my purse (of course).  It took the edge but by no means made me feel better.  Now I am back to feeling the norm, nauseas, shaky, crampy, runny nose, etc, etc., etc. but at least I am home where I am loosely following the Thomas recipe.  I am TOTALLY committed to 100% detox.  Is the 5mg I took going to prolong the process?  I was hoping to feel better by the end of the long weekend and done with the worst of it.

i know worried is a big flusher (ha!!!!)....i myself, can taper, but can't seem to flush....

i'm not sure if that means we're not quite there yet....or if we just need the time mentally to "mourn the loss" as i keep saying and do it gradually and gently....and we'll get there eventually, maybe just not overnight....

i know i've talked to proponents of doing it both ways....if you can taper, it's easier on your body physically (sometimes)....but if you don't have the willpower....then flushing seems to be the only way....but only YOU know what will work best for you....only YOU can decide what's going to work out the best for you in the long run....and whatever you decide, just go for it!!!!!  you CAN do it....

will keep praying for ya.....

Thanks again ladies!  Yes DID take the 5mg much earlier today and I brought it with me to the museum in case I felt really bad.  I have been wanting to see the Annie Lebovitz exhibit for weeks and it was the last day. I HAD to go.  My mind told me that I didnt want to cold sweat all over everyone and collapse in leg cramps!  I was in such WD that I was scared I wouldnt make it.  Worried878, you are right ... i felt so bad that I just had to take it, AND i brought it with me just in case I needed it to get through the exhibit.  It DID take the edge off just enough to get me through 2 hours.  I know I have a long road ahead but I am committed.  I am committed to my health, my family, being off pills.

you are very close to the dose i was at....4 days then day 5 i went back to work...fatigue lingered for me...the other stuff u mentioned was gone really by day 4 to tell the truth...5 mg is not gonna set u back physically much at all...mentally....not good and dont do it again K?  the mental thing is the beast here..dont let it beat u down and please stay strong...so many are so afraid of these cramps and sweats etc...that is really not the thing to be afraid of as u will live thru it and the sun shines in the morning every day...it is ur mind that will cause u to fail...it is ur mind that will make this tough later on...right now get thru this flu stuff and approach any other battles as they come along.educate ur self and be ready...u need to follow up with some aftercare as ost donot have the inclination to even take a pill for quite a while as they are so done with the whole thing...and u did...u need to analyze whats going on with u and learn...did u feel so bad that u just had to take it?   did u find it and it was so irresistable that u just had to take it?  are u being honest with yourself and did not kinda save it just in cae u needed it?   now is the time to be honest and scrutinize ur mind and how it works...it will help u later...we learn from each mistake...learn from it and leave it in the dirt where it belongs

Thanks again Corey!  I picked up the Tyrosine today and have liquid B complex as well.  I aIso started juicing about 6 months ago. My morning routine (breakfast) is to juice 1 head of lettuce, 6 stalks of kale, 2 small apples, 1 lemon and a tbs fresh ginger.  All organic of course.  Believe it or not all of that only makes 18 oz of juice.  You will be amazed at the boost it gives you!  I think adopting a really healthy lifestyle is crucial, at least for me.  I am about to go soak in an epsom bath and go to bed.  My legs are killing me.  Have a great night!

Glad you are feeling so strong. PAWS really helped me to understand why I kept relapsing  in my previous attempts. PT can really make a difference. Working with a personal trainer will help you alot. Doing some cardio exercise.. even walking fast will help with your recovery. Not only does it keep you busy but it will help release endorphins that your body slows down on producing for awhile after addiction. That can bring on depression and exercise will help change that. I'm also taking the aminos and vitamins from Thomas Recipe. I think you said you are also. They are helping me...I esp noticed when I quit taking them. Corey

Thank you for the PAWS referral.  I had never heard of that.  The good news is that I AM feeling REALLY strong for the first time ever.  I have tried CT once and taper twice without success.  Something deep in my soul tells me this time is different.  I have been working really hard with physical therapy and have even moved on to strength and fitness training with a personal trainer.  After years of back and neck disc and nerve problems I think I have actually and finally healed to a reasonable point!  I have been off pills for 2 days and no nerve pain, no disc pain.  I am feeling awesome!  Oh yeah, other than those nasty WD's.  Thanks again

Try to just keep going forward. The thing that is more important than taking half a pill is that you have to prepare yourself for this. It is not going to be easy. Most people start to feel better from the physical wd around day 4-6. Although it will get easier you will have to tough the mental stuff out. Read PAWS under health topics. It stands for Post Acute Withdrawl Symptoms..That's what to expect after the physical stuff. You will have a hard time making it if you don't understand this. A half pill should not make things worse or prolong them. You may crave and will probably have a worse tommorrow than you might have if you hadn't taken it. It's good that you posted and hopefully alot more people will be on to give you support. Good luck through this. If I can be of any help send a PM my way. Corey
