Anxiety is really killing me...

It's been 3 days and I thought I was hanging in there. Today, I can't stop sweating(gross!) and the anxiety, rubber band feeling around my throat, is terrible. I've been trying to really absorb myself in work today and it has helped, but I literally just had to take about 5 minutes and go into the restroom and just breathe!! I need some encouragement right now...Again, its only day 3 off of a 6 day using binge with Lortab 10. So I cant expect much more, plus PMS is a pain. Bad timing...Help!!!!  Anyone out there while I am taking my lunch at work?!?!

My doc gave me Catapres - it's a BP med, not addictive.  It helped me TREMENDOUSLY with the sweats and anxiety - it lowers the BP so if you've got low BP it's not for you.  He also gave me Klonopin - very low, very limited dose to use ONLY if I really needed it in between the Catapres doses.  I've taken like 1/2 a tab once or twice a day and that's it.  I'm at 5 days clean today - my last dose of Catapres tonight so we'll see what tomorrow holds, but he said after 4-5 days, the symptoms should be gone.  I hope so!

I to had problems with sweating & anxiety when I detoxed off methadone, I always wondered if they were linked? For many weeks it felt as if someone had their hands around my throat & wouldnt let go! Its awful I know, but your anxiety should be lifting here in a few days, just hang in their! Penelope

I realize this won't help you at this moment but when you get achance, go get some 5-HTP and some L-theanine.  It'll help with the anxiety but probably not the sweats.  Some Sam e wouldn't hurt either.  They won't "cure" you but they will thake the edge off.

The anxiety does go away. That was hard for me as well. I jumped at every little thing. Just hang in there, it will get better. Take your vitamins and amino acids to heal your body.

How long were u clean before ur binge?  May not last too much longer   i hope not for ur sake....can u get out for a walk?    there are some yoga poses i can  do in my office that help...breathing in thru ur nose and out thru ur mouth using long slow deep breaths really does help...i have a fan by my desk that i turn on and off as needed too...gosh...i want to help as i know this feeling and i hate it....r u religious...a prayer helps me too..or a decet of the rosary...keep some theanine at work if u can...and remember it will pass....hold on and it will pass
