No jacuzzi for me, just plain hot baths every night. I miss when I used to get massages but I can't afford it, unfortunately. Right now I am at work and just have a heating pad, so that is what I am using to deal with the pain. My legs ache something awful though.
Do you have access to a jacuzzi? I got this massage cushion by homedics that kicks...it rolls up and down your back and is a deep tissue massage was like 65 bucks but well worth it..I slept like a baby last night...I have a massage therapist but buying this was like the price of 1.5 massage sessions so I feel it was a good investment...yoga is also good for fibromyalgia...i have it as well
Thanks everyone. I am doing better now, suprisingly! Well at lesst the cravings went away, I am still in pain though.
Poetry- I have tried a TENS unit in the past with no relief, the problem is that the pain is almost everwhere, I don't know where I would put it.
I am dealing and hopefully if I get a good night sleep I will feel better but Ian has been teething so it is hard.
Everyone is right about the chocolate! I drink a concoction of instant English Toffee Cappachino and hot chocolate all of the time and for some reason oranges are a big thing for me. I suffer from chronic pain too, and I feel for you so much it royally sucks #$%^&* Have you ever heard of a TENS unit? It has four electrodes that you stick on the areas of extreme pain and you control the level of electricity with a very small unit about the size of a cell phone you can clip on your pocket, and it has different modes as well. OR you can also put it on acutherapy points. I would be lost without mine. I know this doesn't help today but it is something you can mention to your doctor in the future. I think you would be really happy with it. Insurance pays for it too. I got mine through the occupational therapist at my pain clinic.
You are doing so well, very proud of you. For today just remember that we are all thinking and praying for you and you have tons of support.
hugs,
Lisa
Oh...and hit a meeting or 2...I have gone twice this week and again tonight....it helps

I am sorry to hear others are doint it as well but in a way I am relieved not to feel like a weak jellyfish of a person...At times, I am holding on by a thread most of this week and took 2morrow off to help stay on track...lets try and hang?

Thanks again everyone!
Scott- I know that it is my choice whether I use or not I just wanted a little support.
I am fighting and know this will pass. Plus I don't have any outlets to get any meds because I got rid of them when I decided to quit.
Fight, fight.......I am five months clean now, and the cravings have just finally stopped. it can take a long time.......Hang in there.
Nauty...................
You have to make up your own mind to use or not. I"m sure you know the right thing to do!!! Best of luck! Scott
I hope it passes soon!! You are strong and can get through this.
Cravings suck!!! getting out in the sunshine helps me (when it's not hiding behind a cloud) and distraction like everybody else has said. I love to read but have a hard time focusing when I'm fighting a bad "jones" - so an old movie, a pedicure, something that makes you feel like you're pampering yourself. I also get on here when I'm struggling. Good luck - we'll make it!
Thank you for all of the input. This hasn't passed yet, but what I read it usually lasts 2 to 3 hours. I am at work so it isn't like I can just go and use. So as long as it passes before I leave work for the day, I will be good.
Sorry about your craving....they suck to deal with....I am such a music lover so I crank the computer....LOL....its easier to use and save my favorites on rather than changing CD's every 5 minutes......so if you like music, it usually always works for me. Best of luck!! You can do this!! Hugs
Bananas also help with cravings. I know it sounds nuts, but it works :) Eat it very slowly and enjoy the taste, texture ect...It should take you about 10 minutes to eat it, but when its gone you will be feeling so much better. My doctor told me about this and I didnt believe him untill tried it.I too suffer from chronic pain and its very hard.Getting out of the house like Cathy said would be best, but if you are hurting too bad close your eyes, take deep slow breaths, and imagine where you would rather be.I call it my "safe place" The best thing about this is you can do it whereever you are.*except while driving*
Good luck and sorry it took me so long to respond....im gimpy today :)
Goodluck
hugs
Oh girlfriend i know what you are going though, it is even worse when the pain is there. Dito to what everyone has said...oh chocolate works for me too lol..
If your stuck at home close your eyes and pitcure yourself at your favorite place and try to put yourself there..That has helped me.
We are here as long as you need to talk>>
Hang in there, you can do this!!!! You are strong, you have proven that...
Hugzzz big time
bobby
Really! Dark chocolate helps. Get a really dark 70% cocoa. There is something in chocolate that helps slow cravings and lifts mood. It's not a trick used by women during pms to justify eating chocolate.LOL
Thanks I just read your craving list Cathy, it has a lot of good input. I appreciate all of the support.
SEE YOU ARE MAKING IT 12 MINS HAVE PASSED LOL
that is weird you dreamed about coke, which is my DOC, but i remember dreaming about pills to at times and ive never taken pills. im sorry your having cravings, they flat out suck, but hang in there and it will pass. you have a great support group here. i suggest reading cathy's cravings list when you have time. hang in there.
Thank you for all of your help. I am at work so I am somewhat busy, but when I have some downtime my mind goes back to the pills. That is why I am here, to keep my mind off of it.
Oh sweetie, this is the hardest part. Try to do what Cathy said. I go to the mall but if your're in pain or at work that might be hard. I feel for you on the pain. I hope it goes away. You know you really don't want a pill and go through the guilt and everything that goes with that. Stay strong, we're all here for you.
Big hugs!!
Melissa
That is a strange dream, have no clue what it means!!
