suboxone withdrawel

I have been on suboxone for 3 months--not entirely. not every day becuz i did use here and there. i used for two weeks straight then i took two ml of suboxone one day the nthe next day i took i ml and now it has been 50 hours since i took anything. i am narthatic-- no fuel and my legs are crampy but i have to say last year i got clean i used for 8 months straight no breaks at all--this time i took a week at a time of fand had very little habit. do u think i am throug hthe worst now. i cant sleep but i take serequil. i guess my question is what other things can i do to amke the next 30 days easier. i know that i am withdrawing from opaites not the suboxone. if i take suboxone off and on like 1 ml every two or three days is it going to interupt the proces of my body getting back to normal. i dont think so becuz my habit wasn't bad. please if anyone know abouthtis stuff please help me understand

lst time geting clean it took me a month to feel better and i took nothing to subside the anxiety, leg crapms and insomnia. this time i am in a differnt position i usedtwo weeks so the first day wiht out dope i took only 2 ml of sub and the next 1 ml and i know whe ni had a really bad habit i wouldtake an 8 and feel ok for anh our or two and the nfeel abadley. so i know my habit isnt that bad but enough to cause soem sort ofwithdrawel. so i guess this si the question. i have gone two days without sub which wasonly 1ml and totaled 3 ml for withdrawlein 2 days. so i amnot withdrawing from sub it is the dope. if i try to go as long asi can two or three days the nput just one ml in my system every now in then till the month passes will it stop the process of my receptors getting back to noraml becuz i asm putting a ml in my body here and there. i hope that better explains it.

I think the problem comes from using sub to get off dope and really not knowing if it's helping or hurting because of the way you are taking it. I think it's easier to kick on the drug you are hooked on unless it's street dope.

Yes, it will effect your withdrawls.

I do not understand your taper system.  It would be
very helpful to knowyour DOC and the amount in
a day and for how long you used.  It is a bad idea to
just take 1mg of suboxone when you feel shakey.  I am
on suboxone and Suboxone w/ds are worse than hydrocodone
w/ds.  So if you want to use the suboxone to stop the
w/d's make a taper plan (that depends on how much you took)
exsample 1mg every other day for a week, than 1mg every 3 days
and so forth and so on.  Be careful with the suboxone it can be very hard
to get off of.

absolutely. i have been having trouble the past 8 months . i am done for good. i was doing heroin. i am really done it is just the not feeling goodthing. i am past the worst of the withdrawels i was stuck with no energy which i know sticks aound for a good month or so that is from using dope for so long. i onlt took 2 ml a suboxone that will stay in my system awhile and i wil ltry not to take it for longer next time. i jus tdont want to go competely empty--no energy and the achy legs. whe ni get past the month mark i will work real hard at trying not to put a substance in my body. honestly this time  irelaly want it. i was not feling good yeasterday but ypu have to think i have only been off of dope since saturday at 3. it takes over a week for it to be compelely gone then two to three weeks to get backto normal. have you ever gone threw withdrawel

Carissa , ohhh many times ..(wish I hadnt )  I have a different DOC however .There are some things that helped me feel better faster .If you are not taking antidepressants there are a few supplements that really help with energy and mood. L'tyrosine  5 hpt   magnesium and calcium  vit b6 and 12. Getting exercise everyday even if its just out for a walk will really help get your body back to normal. If you ever need to talk feel free to PM me ..

thank you for your advice i need it. i have gone through ti quite a few times but the last time was memorable. ahahah do u think maybe an antidepressant may help? i started tkaing two days ago amulti vitamn, today i took b6 and b12 with a baanana the potassuim is good. and i ahve been eating protein the past fewnights. L TYROSINE I HAVE HEARD ALOT ABOUT WHTA IS IT . i did the tredmill last night even though i didnt want to. so you can see that i can do it withoutthe subox but hoenstly i would rather not fee lmiserable the whole month of the recovery process. i am goingto to do the tredmill everyday so maybe by next week i =dont even have to take a ml of sub here nadthermy energy will be built by me working out. right?

I would try something like 5 hpt (good for mood and sleep ) and l'tyrosine (it is an amnio acid great for energy).before going on antidepressants sometimes .I think natural works better . A little walk on the tredmill along with these supplements and in a week or two I think you would feel much better .It is worth a try it really did work for me .In 14 days I felt better then I ever had.

ur drug of choice is not one of the most common here but it is still a narcotic...and the withdrawls would be like a narcotic....a narcotic is a narcotic unless u r speaking of sub or meth...a bit different....dont feel that u have anything to hide cos u dont girl!   everything is ok here...ok to say how u feel and what u need...so u may have a mixture of ur drug of choice...which we will say is a high mg a day habit of a strong narcotic that u quit a few days ago and recently off sub as well.....

so u were on sub for 8 months(but used a bit of ur doc here and there during this time)...stopped sub and used a strong narcotic for 2 weeks..then a few days of sub...now 50 hours with nothing   right?

If this is not right...let us know...i dont think she needs to hear how indecisive she has been thus far...she is trying to be decisive now and needs our help

how do u feel?...lethargy can be helped alot with the supps avis mentioned

hi there..how much of the L-tyrosine do you take?  and do u take it more than once a day?  i noticed that it says to take it in the morning on an empty stomach...i am also taking the B6 with it and then the B12...after that settles a little i take the 5hpt and a daily with energy and calcium, magnesium, and zinc combo pill...
i have been clean for 27 days and i still dont have the energy back yet...but maybe im just thinking of the energy i had when on the percs or subs...and i will never have that kinda of energy...that is why i used...the energy was great and i actually accomplished things!  thanks for your help!

You may be getting sick from using opiates one day, and then Suboxone the next day. The suboxone binds to the portion of your brain that accepts opiods much stronger than the opiods themselves, so what will happen when you take the Suboxone after taking an opiod it will make you sick. Think of it this way. Say you took 2 oxicontin 80's and you had all of that in your brain, and then you take a Suboxone....because the Suboxone binds so much stronger than the Oxi or any other opiod, it is going to blow off all of the other drug and replace it with the Suboxone which is not a full agonsit, it is a half agonist, making it not as "powerful" as oxicodone, or pretty much an otehr drug you are taking. So even if you felt sick befoer you still do have some of the drug in you, and when you take a Suboxone you will instantly go from having say 50% of what your body needs per day, to having 0% of what your body needs. This will leave you sick. If you were a very heavy user you would notice this much much worse, it happened to me, and that is what put me in the hospital. Within minutes of taking the Suboxone(because I did not wait long enough, you have to be in FULL w/d:shaking goosbumps, vomitting, anxiety the whole works) I was thrown into the worst sickness you can possibly imagine. So this could be what is making you sick, it is a horrible idea to use other drugs while taking Suboxone it is very dangerous, and it will make things worse. Why are you using the drugs still anyway? is it because you want to get "high" every now and again, because the suboxone will take away sickness, but not get you high, and if you are still desiring the high, then you may as well jsut use drugs, until you are actually ready to quit. Good Luck

than kyou for the info. i am not using any otherdrugs. i have been off of opiates for 6 days now. i took sub in withdrawels on the 2nd day but only 2 ml and the n1 ml the next the nwent 50something hours and felt exausted and emotionalliss so i took 2ml and now i havent took any sub in almost 48 hours. but very tired and a little anxiety. i know it takes atleast 20 days to feel normal. im counting doe ndoen the days but have really bad anxiety. so if i have to take a ml here and there to make it through month do u think it will interfere with the process. some have told me know.

It takes 20 days to feel norman after sub you say? What;s the point of taking something with a longer withdrawl than opiates. Also when you said you are done with heroin, be carefull. I said it and heard it many many times to no avail. all the best

Going on a two week binge and then using sub for essentially a day and half isn't going to matter much. That binge negates any kind of tapering that you did with the suboxone previously. And a 2 day taper isn't really a taper at all. The withdrawl feelings are to be expected......but you are 3-4 days clean and feeling better, which is awesome. I think the general consensus around here is that if you make it to 5-6 days you will really start to feel like yourself again. Good luck and don't slip. And if you do...take your docs advice on the taper. I think we all have learned that self-diagnosis and playing doctor only leads to trouble. ;)

It definitly does not take 20 days to recover from Suboxone if you are taking it correctly. I can't imagine someone abusing it and the going cold turkey...that it suppose could lead to trouble. But if you do it right it eliminates almost all feelings. I did a taper from 16mg to basically .5mg to nothing over the span of 6 months and felt literally no discomfort. Eventually I just forgot to take it more and more often and I was done. Done right....suboxone is a miracle.

YES IT DOES FOR TAKE TIME T ORECOVER. I AM NOT RELALY RECOVERING FROM SUB IT IS THE OPAITES THE SUB IS JUST THERE TO GIVE ME A LITTLE BOOST TO AMEK IT THROUGH THE FIRST WEEK OR SO. I DINT GO COLD TURKEY THOUGH I DID TWP DAY OD 2ML SUB. I AM CLEAN NOW FOR 6 DAYS OFF OF OPAITES AND ONLY HAVE TOOK 2ML THE FIRS DAY WHEN I WAS HAVING WITHDRAWELS AND THEN 2ML ON WED IT IS NOW FRIDAY SO I AM NOT WITHDRAWING I AM FEELINGTHE EFFECTS OF USING DRUGS FOR APPROX 8 MONTHS. SUBOXONME IS A WONDERFUL DRUG IT HAS HELPED MANY PEOPLE THAT I LOVE AND CARE FOR I JUST DONT WANT TO BE ON IT. I WANT TO LIVE LIFE FREE BUT I HAV ETO GET PAST THE TIREDNESS AND ACHY

That's awesome. And in some cases it is used in the way you did. Many inpatient detoxes use very small amounts of sub to, like you said, take the edge off. But you still take the brunt of the withdrawl. I took the longer road with a 6 month taper. I actually wish I would have gone your route and been off quicker, but with work I couldn't have any withdrawl symtoms. I guess the method depends on the person...but ultimately its just great that we are all getting clean.

Oh please it took almost 14 days for the WD from Sub to hit me and let me tell you it was bad! I have never felt that sick in me entire life! As soon as I took one again it took about 2 hours and I was back to feeling much better whatever you do do not stop it CT please it will hit you as soon as you know it and you will be sick sick sick. I was only on it for 2 months and I got I'm talking deathly ill so please don't make the same mistake I did.

I agree that the "getting clean" aspect is what is important either way.

However, sub is not meant to be taken as you are taking it...basically, it isn't as effective that way.  That it seems to be working for you is great...but I'm just asking you to consider that indeed the minimal symptoms you ARE experiencing are more likely due to the erratic dosing of the sub, vs the opiates.  Just a thought.

Not saying you should all of a sudden start taking it 4 times daily...but you MAY want to regulate the dose a bit...like try a low dose every other day....or an even lower dose ONCE a day, then start tapering fairly rapidly (like after a week).  That may be something to consider if you are still having a lot of "ups and downs" with the symptoms as you seem to be.

Best of luck!  Congrats to you for your success so far.
