Clean 67 days ...? about Lorazapem

Hello Again! I have made it 67 days clean now and sometimes I just stil can't sleep well.  When I was taking lots of percocet, I also took Ambein to help me sleep.  When I detoxed and got clean...I quit all addictive meds including the Ambein.  I also have a Rx for Lorazapam that I have not taken since day 1  and in the past i have never abused and hardly took.  It would really helped me sleep when I took them.  I am afraid to take them now. I don't want anything to make me want the percs again. If I took them it  would only take at bedtime once and awhile.  Anybody have an opinion or expierence to help? I really need a good nites sleep.

Thank You!

I take lorazepam in the morning 1mg it has never made me tired but I have also never abused it. I think if it will help you sleep and you have never had a problem with it them go ahead and try it. If I didn't take mine in the morning I would be a wreck. One thing at a time is all I can do

I do have some caffiene but I wouldn't say a lot.  And not in evening.  I do have a lot of worries about finances and stuff...and dealing with my paranoid son who worries about me going back to my old ways.(not that i blame him:))  I also lost my Dad(expected) and my sister (unexpected) recently.  I am seeing a counselor but sleep is still a big problem.  And I felt dependant on the Ambien to sleep.  So I just don't know what to do? Thanks for the help!

Congratulations on your clean time. Good for you. I am sorry for your losses.
As you continue to walk the road of recovery your son will begin to walk along side you amd feel more secure as time goes on. Healing in the family also takes time. Have you tried natural sleep aids.melatonin and valerian root?

I am right behind you in the clean time. I also took ambien. However i stopped taking them three weeks ago. Our bodies get dependent on ambien. I know i did. I still toss and turn Alot. Or wake up every hour. I am taking melatonin. It seems to help a little. I will tell ya with the melatonin you got to take it early. Around 7 to 8. So it works properly. Some people even say to take it when the sun goes down. But Im not home then most days. It takes awhile to sleep. Eventually i hope my body adjusts or just runs down. Praying for both of us to sleep

Hi there...
Awesome clean time! I'm 20 days behind(:  I, too am struggling with sleep and I am on benzos to sleep...Trying to taper and I wish I'd never taken them in the first place (it's been 2+years)  If I were you I would do the melatonin and not the lorazepam...It has a short half-life and isn't that effective for sleep anyways.  I do deep breathing and meditation and melatonin.  Also, exercise is key.  I am sorry for your losses and proud of your strength for pushing through on your road to recovery.  Don't forget to take time out and be kind and gentle with yourself.  You deserve it.....Lu

I take ambien for sleep and dont abuse it and didnt even know it could be abused, but it gets me to sleep but i wake up 2 to 3 times in the middle of the night, any suggestions? Could it be because I take 4 mg's of Xanax a day and I'm on methadone and my body is so use to downers? What do you think? If you don't know, would you know someone else that could answer my questions? Thanks alot!

Quitting the Ambien was hell...I didn't hardly at all for 2 weeks.  nothing worked...but eventually is returned to normal but I still have a hard time getting to sleep.  Once asleep I am fine.
Thanks
