Could I have caused any liver damage from my Vicodin addiction?

So I have been off Vicodin for 8 days. I was taking 80mg of Hydrocodone everyday for 4 months straight. Could I have caused permanent Liver damage from that 4 month period? If I did do any damage, will it heal since I won't be taking ANY Vicodin anymore?

Sorry I'm a little confused by the first part of your paragraph. Were you trying to say young people think they know it all?

Cheese and crackpots , you're young.  ...the older you get, you'll find.....the less you know.  Right now you're right on track and know everything. Lol, No worries. We all were very much like you at your age .....plus ....you're bored!  You said it yourself !!!!  If there was anything at all to do at home, yiu wouldn't even think about drugs.  Well without being able  to comment on your interests ....if you cannot find anything....then come here!.....come here and post or journal or join other forums and do same......

Why aren't you working if not in school?  Sorry idk your backstory.

Don't be bored son.........boredom kills. Peace and hugs and hope friend.

Sorry but I'm not the kind of person who gets in denial. I don't care what you say, that's not how i think. I face the facts in any situation. I took these pills because i knew I could stop them without any issue.

If you go by your technical terms, than ya i guess I'm an addict to some people, but really this isn't an issue for me. If I had ANYTHING to do at home I wouldn't even think about drugs. Hell even when a new video game comes out it will keep my mind busy from doing dumb stuff out of boredom.

Wonderful replies.  Hopefully, one day they will "click" to you.  Right now, you're in classic denial.  Your addiction problem may not be HUGE, but it's there, by definition, what you're doing, and the patterns you have been following (abusing addictive medications for all the wrong reasons, including self medicating away anxiety) IS addiction my friend.

Addicts come from all walks of life, and the one common thread is that MOST started out saying the exact same things you are saying.  Like said, it sneaks up quickly.  It would be super if you could open your mind to the possibility that this is a bigger deal than you think it is....before you find yourself in a way worse predicament.

You're 20...are you in school?  Work?  What do you do with your time?  You should be actively working toward creating a solid future for yourself, with independence as a goal.  Throwing yourself into school, etc certainly would be a great cure for boredom.
