4 year norco addiction

my name is eric and i am seeking advise for my friend ashley.  she is 21 years old and has been addicted to norco for 4 years.  im not fully aware of all of its characteristics, but am familiarizing my self through the internet.
she is taking 5 to 12 a day and has tried to quit once and was unsuccessful.  she has a poor diet and probably moderately dehidrated.  i need to know the best diet for her to get on (as far as the proper and best foods to help with the detox), approximately how long for detox (5'6"  120lbs), and best advice for care.  she has no medical insurance or state assistance.  we do not have very much money but will get what we need to help with the expences.  where can we start?...thank you for your time-eric

Start by going to a local NA meeting and people there can help her find a clinic or doc that will treat her on a sliding scale.  She will need to taper down if she can with your help to reduce the withdrawals.  Stock up on flu meds and epson salts for hot baths. Tell her she will have the flu for a week get through it and have her life back I know that sounds simple but it is true.  Getting sober isn't near as hard as staying sober...that is what the meetings are for.

Detox usually takes 5-7 days. She will feel like she has an awful flu. Make sure she drinks plenty of fluids it is very easy to dehydrate during detox. Go to the Health  Pages on this site and look up the Thomas Recipe. It has a lot of helpful info. Just remember it's not over just because she detoxed. She will have cravings and the really hard part is staying clean. She will need much support and NA or AA might be a good idea. Keep reading and posting here. There are many wonderful people here that will help her along.
