Day 7 - Can't shake the fever! Suggestions?

Hi everybody, I'm on day 7 of detoxing and overall I think I'm doing pretty good.  My wrestless legs and arms are  pretty much gone, although I still feel sore all over - it's nothing compared to days ago, I'm back on a full diet already now for several days and my stomach has completely filled back and regulated itself, I'm getting an average of 6 solid hours of natural sleep for the past several nights now, and some other symptoms I had before aren't bothering me anymore.  Overall I feel much better and I don't have any complaints - except...

I've been fighting a fever from the begging of my detox.  I had hot and cold sweats with a fever off and on the first few days when the withdrawal symptoms were the worst.  After the first 4 days all my systems have been seeming to come online, but for some reason this fever got worse and became persistent.  It's been a solid 3 - 4 days now (day 3 - 7 of my detox) that I've had a fever, which is causing a headache from eyes open in the morning to eyes closed at night.  It comes and goes in the daytime a little, but even though I'm nourishing my body with food, fluids, vitamins, minerals, rest, some movement during the daytime, head & full body massages, aroma therapy, hot showers, coffee (i drank coffee everyday before my detox so I thought maybe I was "withdrawing" from the caffeine),  etc.  My feet are cold and my head is hot...headache behind the fever,..it's stayed like this for day 6 and day 7 now persistently.  It seems to me that it's getting worse when all my other symptoms are dissapprearing or are already gone.

Does anybody have any ideas why this might be happening?  Or any suggestions of how to beat the fever?  Thanks everyone, much love :)

Thanks for the suggestions advice everyone :)  As of now i'm on day 12 and the fever is gone.  The only symptoms I'm experiencing is sore restless muscles and joints.  Along with that my emotions are spiking up and down.  I never figured out the fever, but it lasted for days.  I just stayed in bed watching movies and didn't leave the bed for a few days.  No showers or movement.

I am SO looking forward to a CLEAN AND PRODUCTIVE 2012.  My goals seem to be in reach now and I have the clarity and motivation to start pursuing them again.  Everybody else going through it keep up motivation! PeacE!!!

Oxy, do you have allergies? I ask because I have the exact same reaction when exposed to temperature changes. I just discovered it is from my allergies so I don't have any additional information on it right at the moment but it is something to consider.

I don't know. Weather changes can cause a headache but I don't know about temp changes. Anything is possible!   It really does sound like it's a sinus infection and that should be checked by a doctor.  While you're out seeing the doctor, you can buy a thermometer!

Vicki I'm not sure what my actual temp is.  I was able to get the fever subsided for the most part, but I still think it's lingering.  The headache has dulled, but still there.  It's constant and located across my forehead and behind my eyes, mainly on the right side.  The paracetamol and ibuprofin both did absolutely nothing for me.  The only way I know I keep getting a fever is because I feel it.  It comes and goes throught the day with my headache...i'm embarressed to say I don't have a thermometer!

all other reports are normal..i'm wondering if it might have been caused when earlier I left my airconditioned room for the first time in a week, walked around the house and got hot and sweaty for 1 hour, came back to my room through the aircon hot & sweaty to my bathroom, where I took a hot shower, and then dressed warmly and proceeded back to my airconditioned room.  Possibly the rapid temperature changes ontop of the oxy withdrawels might have triggered this bad of a headache at the end of day 7?

I've been running a low grade fever since I started detoxing off opiates and I'm on day 10.  But I have autoimmune illness of which this is a symptom.  That and I've slept 10 hrs in 10 days.  If your headache is behind your eyes-chances are you have a sinus infection.  I've heard this is very common when detoxing off oxy and I have a minor one myself.  Get to the doc and take care of it....Feel better...Lu

What is your temperature?  Take it before you medicate with ibuprofen or the others...and when you've not had anything to drink for at least 1/2 hour.

hmmm..., Ok, it's night time for me now, but I said the same thing to my friend taking care of me; that if my fever is still here tomorrow on day 8 something isn't right.  I was able to get my fever to subside with cold washclothes, but i can feel it's still there and I still have a headache.  Hopefully tomorrow it will clear up!

What kind of infection could I have?  I have no other symptoms and everything else is fine...

I agree with littlebit..persistent fever is a sign of an infection brewing somewhere. Get examined by a doc today. You're doing amazing! keep up the great work and I hope you feel better soon.

A fever is not really a withdraw symptom, but hot and cold flashes with sweating are.   If you are running a fever for a week, go see a doctor just to be safe.

BTW great job on 7 days, I am just a day behind.

Oh, I forgot to mention I've also tried taking ibuprofen, paracetamol, and cold washcloths on my forehead.
