Day 9 wasn't bad but could be better

Today..well I guess yesterday since its 4AM. Wasn't bad. The anxiety was there but not as bad. I did some chores ( laundry, dishes etc) then laid down for a couple hours as my body was tired. I couldn't nap though. I went to another NA meeting tonight. I feel really calm there, but stupid when people ask what my drug of choice was and I say OxyContin. Oh well they seem to help. I just wish I could sleep and I had my normal energy back.

Hey, I'm on day 8! I was a bad abuser of hydrocodone, 40+ 10/325 a day habit for 5 years. I have two physical symptoms left from WD: Fatigue and Insomnia. But otherwise, I am feeling amazing. I am a very fast healer - so may be a bit farther along. Theres a lot of physical as well as mental healing in recovery, IMO. I am loving life like a 4 year old, I hope you get there too!

It is very common to not be able to sleep and lack energy when you quit pain pills.   It takes awhile for everything to get back to normal.       You are doing the right thing though.....taking care of some tasks when you can, and laying down and resting when you feel like you need to.    Take it easy and remember your body is healing..    Sounds like you are doing the right things....just hang with it.    Better days are around the corner.   Don't give up.
