Do you know how important you are to me ?

I got off opiates over 2 years ago.  Eagle, Avis, griz, and a whole lot of people with the same amt of time as me were here to pull me through.  the people with less than 90 days are just as important as anyone to my soberity.  Thank you newcomers !!!!    You can do it.  The withdrawal monster isn't half as big as you imagine. For me the 4th day is the hardest then you start to really believe you are going to make it.

I know that the mental cravings will never go away but only become less frequent but how long does it take when u really feel normal, happy whatever u want to call it you know wake up feeling refreshed not in pain where you get enjoyment out of things in life besides drugs I did 2 months clean then relapsed now I'm a little over 3 days clean and its the same ******** all over

I do remember - -  and even though I managed to get to that 2 yr mark I know that it could all come crashing down this evening, if I would let it!    And you are most correct - - there is no amount of anyones clean time that is more important than another - - no matter what the numbers are!    There is strength in numbers and on this forum we are strong......In fact, we really do need each other - -  no matter where you are in the process..... we all need someone that we can lean on ......  and we can all learn from almost anyone!

Two years! Amazing!! can you tell me how long it took to feel "normal" without the opiates? Do you still get cravings or no? I know its going to take time to get back to the person i was before I ever started taking opiates. I know I'll always be an addict but I wonder how long until I feel normal. I've read it can take anywhere from 6 months to a year. Was that true for you?

Way to go on the 2 years!  I'm on day 12 and feel like a different person!  I can't wait to be where you are.  I can't even imagine how I'll feel in 2 years!  Heck I'm excited for two weeks on Friday!

Congrats on those 2 years. I agree with you, those that have under 90 days and just starting out help us so much and remind us that we are one drug away from going back to where we were and what it was like. It's good to see you posting again girl:)
