Getting of Vicodin Safely?

I am a 26 year old female who ended up hurting my knee and was given a script for it. Since the begining of 2009 I have been getting 90 tabs a month, (to be taken 3 times daily). Now I've bulit up a tolerance to it, so 3 a day doesn't help. I can take up to 5-7 a day and can competely function. My husband/family and friends have NO idea of this horrible habbit I have formed, and I am so emarassed. Today is my 1st day without any vicoden, and I feel so so, but from what I have read the worst is yet to come. I just would like to know if there is anyone out there going through the same thing? I feel so alone and miserable. Does anyone have any advice for me to get me through these tough days to come??

I started taking the b complex and sam-E, multi vitamin, Didn't find the l-trosine but got some l-lysine. It is good amino for skin it said. I definatly think the sam-e is helping my emotional state and my joints. It stands to reason that it should help. May as well do everything possible to make it as smooth as you can. I had imediate improvment when I used the whey protein! The sam-e helps to support the liver too!

Thanks everyone for your helpful words. They are defiantley encouraging. Today is day 2...and I don't feel nearly as bad as I thought. I have gotten rid of all sources, scripts, etc so there is no way I can access it...THANK GOD. I am at work today, I figured I had to keep my mind busy vs just lying on the couch thinking about how I can get more pills. It feels good also to know I am not alone in this. I think my next step is a gym membership to exercise....that is something I've read a lot of peole are doing to stay focused. I have read the Thomas Recipe, has anyone tried it? And does it actually work?

I'm so proud of you to get real with this right now. My story started the same way... With a knee injury. I was a hair stylist and access to more and more bigger and stronger stuff seemed to flow to me. I wanted to keep working and didn't seem to find time to eat but I sure found the time for pills pills and more pills. I am paying dearly for it now with great regret.
