Great starting Day 5

Yesterday was bye far my best day I can remember in probly 8 years but I am not sure what happened I know the regulars know my story but here is a quik run down I am 18 days clean of 5mg of Methadone down from 20mg and I started my taper from 4 Loratab 10s a day 4 days ago I took 3 and a half for 3 days and yesterday I only took 3 tabs not planned but I did fine so now I will go ahead and start 3 a day I did not have the hard w/d symptoms yesterday between doses like I have everyday before most the time I could tell when 4 hours have went bye because the way I feltl but yesterday I took my first tab at 8am and the next at 330pm and the next at 8pm I went hunting last night with the hounds and felt great went to bed around 11pm woke up at 4am very very minor RLS not bad but I have no other symptoms at all and I was always having bad hot flashes 3 to 4 hours after taking tabs could it be I have been in a constant Methadone detox and it is finally starting to turn loose boy I sure hope so It will be 10 hours between my doses and no major w/d symptoms seems strange to me but I will take it but 10 hours between tabs is amazing to not have started to w/d very bad at all I feel almost normal other than the RLS

the Dozeman is still sick it could not have come at a worse time my first grandchild was born Friday and I have not been able to hold her I got sick as they where bringing her into the nursery it cane on fast but I did not wanna get her sick so I will sacrifice holding her so she dont get sick I think I am threw the worst of it but still have a fever of 99.4 better than yesterday it was 102 please pray I get over this I am sure that coming off Methadone 23 days ago may have made this flu a little worse it was almost as bad as coming off Tramadol

I am so sick my fever is 102 I may have to go to the Hospital tonight last night I laid there in so much pain all I did was squall with pain my legs hurt worse than they ever have in my life I will not ever take Methadone again but I may have to come to realize that I may have to take some meds I will wait to see if things get better after I am over this flu it is killing me

There  is always rebound pain when coming off the meds. It gets worse
Before it gets better. It will take a good month or more off opiates to get a true marker on your pain level. Try soaking your feet in Epsom salts.

well last night was awesome considering the hunt went great I had to walk to the top of the Mountain I have started taking Advil it helps very little but does knock the edge off but still no good sleep went to bed at 2am got up ay 530 am and I got a lot to do today

well I didnt make it to 6am made it to 3am but it is what it is my biggest problem is during the day between doses my feet feel like they are gonna blow off with every step I take Now after I take my next Loratab it goes away for about 3 to 5 hours not sure if this is from w/d or the pain I went to the Dr for in the first place but it is bad and I will not survive without meds if thats the case I mean it gets to where I cant even hardly walk like they are under alot of preasure please pray for me that this is just part of w/d but I am sure I will never know till I stop all the meds and I do walk a whole lot at night and work

I am happy to say I am 19 days off the dones and doing ok with that today is day 3 at 3 tabs I started my taper off tabs 5days ago and already down 1 pill with minor w/d compared to what I am used to honestly I dont think nothing helps the sleep issue so I might as well be productive and make a nice hound I have tried Melatonia no help I dont get much sleep about 4hrs a night for the past 2 days but I will probably turn the hounds loose tonight just to make me that much tireder so maybe atleast I can sleep till 6am

Hey dozey! Grats on day 3!  3's a magical number, you're going to have an enlightening day.  You're gonna kick this beast. Just try to be patient. You have a great tude and that's half the battle at this point. Thanks for being such a supportive influence in the community.  I find it easier to forget about my sh*t, whilst i be helpin someone else out with theirs. Haha you rock it !

just got back had to walk up the mountain it was one hell of a workout about a mile one way and up hill all they way there it was hard

The coon hunting will help but I am telling you the friends and support on here helps more than anything it is nice to talk to people that understand what  it is like because you cant hardly explain it to someone that dosent know I always say just imagine the worst flu of your life and its 10 times worse than that

yes I control my dose I have never had an abuse problem just dependent I can handel being around them I am just lucky I guess and I am looking to get back my old way of life cant wait to be free even today my w/d between doses is way better than it was all the days before something turned loose of me

Yes Gnarly I used to be a hard core coon hunter but in the last few years I have slacked off alot I think in part to taking meds but I am gonna go again tonight I used to go every night onetime I went 63 nights in a row all but Sundays I have always went enough to keep a decent hound thank God for that but I am making a come back today was a little harder due to lack of sleep I woke up at 350am but thats ok I still did not take my second till 3pm if I go hunting it will pass the time so much better I will be going after the world hunt when I get off these Loratab I have placed 21st along time ago looking for 1st with Double 00 the pic is in my profile he is a born tree dog

Always enjoy seeing your posts Dozeman!  You are doing great man...and even got some hunting in?!?!?  Just count your blessings and try not to focus too much on the "what ifs".  As, the infamous say, "mental is 2/3's of the battle" and you set yourself up to win this war. Keep on doing what your doing!

I am proud to say that I am on day 5 of nothi ng!  I still took Percocet for a week after stopped Oxy but Friday was my first day sans pills. My husband gave them to me during my taper.  Everything is under lock and key now because I am like a 5'1 business suit wearing drug dog!

SO glad to hear that you had a Great day!!!!  Its always good being outside with our animals!!!  Being outside is so good during detox and having the animals that love you unconditionally is so wonderful!!!  My dog stuck right by my side through the whole detox!!!!  :)   Keep up the great work!!!!!

Sounds good. Glad to read your doing better with RLS. Are you administrating the meds yourself? That's tough. Just remember while you're feeling good. Your mind and brain will test you. After detox there comes aftercare. Be very active towards it. Please be ready, and throw away your remaining pills AND your old way of life. Good Luck Dozeman!

I cannot say for sure but that is possible.  I dropped about 60-90mg OxyCotin a week before my last Percocet (was also taking 2-4 Percocet 10s a day) and my detox from Percocet has not been as bad as I anticipated. I think it may be because I was already detoxing from a much higher dose of oxy. I hope that is the case for us both!
