questions

Hi All - I have a question. I started taking Vicodin about 6 or 7 months ago, prescribed for extreme back pain. I didn't even know what it was at the time. I took 2-3 a day at the time (as prescribed) and was done with it. A month or so later, was prescribed Percocet for tooth pain. Since then, I have been taking Vicodin off and on, mostly on. I had a hard time getting it, and then I got one of my doctors to prescribe me Vicoprofen about a month ago, and only took 1-2 a day for the past month, and now I have run out. I definitely feel like I have withdrawals even though I was not taking a large amount of pills for a long time. I have tried to get more, but my doctor is nothing like the doctors that everyone on this post sees - they do not want to give them out. I feel irritable and tired, and shaky. Could it be possible to be addicted after this short a time taking 1-2 pills a day - and should I talk to my doctor about it, or just suffer through a few days until I feel better?

Problem is, I know once I can get more I will probably take them. Thanks

I would go for it and quit...the doctors here are very cautious about prescribing pain meds as well...i had never known anyone to get oxycodone around here,,,they will prescribe hydrocodone but are very cautious...it is very hard to be an addict here !  LOL  and that is a good thing as I think my dose would have gotten much higher over the years if I would have had the pills on hand...you may feel a bit flu-like for a couple of days and it will pass...go to the health pages and get the thomas recipe and the amino protocol in case you need it...you should be fine and it is good that u r catching this early

I would run and run far away (figure of speech) quit while you are ahead because it can only get worse from here, you are catching this very early and  quiting sooner then later will be much, much easier. You think you are feeling bad now just think if you were taking more or taking more for longer, seriously you are doing the right thing and just get threw 1-3 days or so and you'll be feeling much better. Best of Luck!

I would suffer it out for a couple days and get it over with and never look back. I know not easily done, but it is the best thing for you to do. Best of luck to you.

Since you're not in too deep yet , I'd suggest to get out while you can. It's definitely not too late for you. It's possible to have wd's after a short time but I doubt they'll last too long.
