IT'S TIME!!

Well the time has finally come. i am leaving for inpatient treatment on July 29th. I know it is the absolute right thing to do, but i have mixed emotions about it. for those of you who don't know me, i have struggled with opiate addiction for about seven years. on and off, mostly on. huge benges, lots of bad behavior completely out of character for me, like taking pills from other people just to support my habbit. i have gone back to occasionally useing so many times and it always turns into hard core relapse. i have never been to inpatient and it is  completely inconvienient for me to go, with a husband and four kids, but i know it is time to go and deal with this the right way once and for all. i am ready to turn all the bad sh** about this addiction, into something good. just need some prayers. i am leaving three sons and a baby daughter. my daughter and i are together all day every day and im scared she will suffer from some sepparation anxiety. she is 18months and i know she will ultimately be fine, but it will just be hard to leave her. thanks to every one for your love and encouragement, this forum truly is a god send. good for you for making this decision.  looking at the long term, again - you could not do a better thing for your children.

I am so proud of you. Leaving the kids will be hard but just remember that when you come back they are going to have a new and improved mommy! a clean mommy!! it will so be worth it! my heart goes out to you and i will be thinking about you. keep your chin up and stay strong. we will all be pulling for you!

Wow good for you. I know if could keep getting them I would definately end up there too. I can relate to doing things out of character. Its amazing the drive you get. I too have taken other peoples of course without them knowing. they were really in pain and not abusing them. I feel so guilty for that.But at the time I didnt care.Best of Luck!!!

good for you christina.  i am proud of you for making this step...it maybe hard on your daughter in the moment but the end result will be worth it.  she will have a mom that is able to truely care for her and her needs.  i respect your commitment and will pray for you and your family.  make sure you come back to us when you get out.  huge hugs to you.

Inpatient treatment was the greatest gift I ever gave myself. Just remember to keep up the hard work afterword and it will all be worth it! Good luck to you!

you have all my respect. 7 years on and off and now it's time to finally put an end to this. im sure it must be so difficult leaving your family for awhile, but like you said "you are ready to deal with this once and for all", and i believe this will help you tremendously. it takes a lot of courage to do this and i just wanted to wish you luck. you should be proud of yourself.
