Help with depression
The physical effects of wd are starting to get better. Now I'm really depressed. How long does this last & any suggestions for dealing with it.Do I just kick back or try to stay busy? Should I get rid of rest of hydro? My husband has them.
You are doing good. Depression and lack of energy are very common.
Just remember that it took time for the body to get out of whack by our use of drugs. It takes time to have it re-regulate itself again. some things can take months. Be patient with yourself during the recovery process. The next thing you may soon experience is a flood of emotions.

if the withdrawls are getting better than you must have passed the hump and that is great. the brain needs a little time to heal. those amino acids will really speed it up.
i think we have to teach our brain to do the endorphins on its own again. laughing is the best! just try and take in as much funny people, movies, and stuff you can. there were some thoughts on marriage that helped me out once. i will see if i can find them.

hi laura. i am on day 10 off vicodin. you will depressed for 4 or 5 days and then day by day you will start to feel normal again. take valium if you have any and just try to sleep through the first few days. remember, don't take another pill, you have to be strong. prayer helped me the most.
Flush em...u r doing great...the depression will come and go for a while...exercise helps and staying busy...5htp, SAMe, tyrosine and DLPA help as well...r u an AD? I went on one prophylactically before i quit and stayed on it for a couple of months later..not sure it helped but i took lexapro...u do have to becareful with some of the aminos if u r onlarge doses of AD...i was on 5 mg and had no trouble with the aminos...i still take all of these...tyrosine, dlpa, samE in the am and 5 htp at night
