Oh ... I almost forgot. The worst thing you can do is beat your self up ...save your strength because you will need it on the road ahead.  Perhaps when you are healed you can help someone like yourself because you know the pain.   God Bless you.  Tom

Sonia, this is the third day since rehab release last friday. I was prescribed Tramies over 3 years ago for a knee injury that never got better so I got total Knee replacement on OCT.5.  Of course the recovery included lots of Codine and Perkecet after the Operation recovery.  I was taking the Trams along with other medication and when my wife tried to wean me it didn't work so I hide a bottle of Trams incase she stopped completly.  On Nov 7 I got busted and she flushed it all down the toilet.  By Sun I had a gun in my room (I slept alone because I needed a bed too myself unt healed) My mind was out of control.
My son came and got the gun but I threatened driving off a bridge.  Of course the Cops came and took me to rehab.  In my opinion Rehab is nothing more than being locked up until your head clears.  There is no data I'm aware of that can give a time line of it being completely gone.  I'm having about 3-4 hours a day of acceptable feelings right now and that's up about an hour from yesterday.  If I were to prescribe the perfect therapy it would be sleep, sleep and more sleep (Ambein )   To be realistic most people just can't drop out of life for the time it takes to withdraw without some help especialy if kids are involved.  There is help out there.  The Families Disability act protects you from being fired but you must send Human Resources a written notice.  Don't let the B.S. you they must comply. Unless you have had other drug issues and your family is POed, they still love you and I bet will give you one more chance and supply whatever they can. If you can talk your Doc into the Ambien's then take them ...it's the only thing  that helps that TOO TIRED TO WORK--TOO HYPER TO SLEEP.  Many Churches will help too.  Get on the net look for help

Hi, Sonia~!

At day three you are definitely far enough into wd that I hope you just push on through it.  It's absolutely one of the most difficult things you will EVER do, but if you can get through it (and you can --- see the link from madtram above) it will be so very worth it.

Try to get as much physical activity as you can.  Make yourself eat foods reasonably high in protein, and drink enough water.  Take imodium for the diarrhea if that is an issue for you, as it is for many.  Most of all, I hope you can get over to Emily's journal and read some of the experiences people are having with tram wd.  You'll feel much better knowing you aren't alone and seeing how others are beating this terrible drug every day.

blessings and peace to you,
~fmn

Sorry meant to add i was probably at my worst around day 3 and felt like i couldnt go on but it did start to get better after that.  I am mid w/d just now this time from codiene, like you i am day 3. During the day i am trying to spend a little time out of bed, the hot baths def are helping. I,m eating bananas for the potassium and drinking water to help prevent dehydration. I,m whacked during the day but i have managed to get out for a short walk if you can manage this i think it helps with the ache in my legs, its good for the soul to get out of the room i,m been pretty much confined to. Keeping in touch via this site has been the most helpful thing out of everything i dont know where i would be at if i wasnt here. I,ve been using Immodium to stop the runs and it works, i bought stuff called buscopan that is a anti spasmodic and it helps with the gut cramps. The worst bit is night time i,ve been using nytol and hot water bottles but honestly it doesnt seem to have made a difference, tonight i,m going to try and read and listen to music. I know we are nearing the end of the torture that we are going thru right now. These guys have all been there and they want us to know how much better it is once we are thru this bit. Hang on in there we are already thru the really hard stuff i believe with all my heart that it can only get better. I keep thinking of waking up in the morning with a clear head, with energy and my motivation that i used to have before pills took it away. We can get thru this, sure it is awful just now but once we come thru the other side and feel we can get thru the day without stuff we are free again. Sending a big hug, i feel your pain i,m there with you lets just get thru tonight and i,m hopeful tomorrow will be better

Hey sonia, how you getting on? I,ve done tram w/d several times and it is grim. I didn't know about this site then and just went c/t. I had a massive seizure and lay on the floor at home for nearly 40mins before i came around. When i did eventually wake i,d bust my face on my bedside table, i,d bitten thru my tongue. Safe to say i would not recommend this course of action. I,m new here but i will say these guys know what they are talking about and will give you all the support and info they can. If you cant access medical assistance at this time speak to the guys here who know about tram w/d. I was recommended the Thomas detox here and OMG it is helping me big time. It is good to keep posting and keep fighting. I know you want to overcome this and end this rollercoaster but please please be careful and do it as safely as possible. It may take a bit longer but at least you may avoid a trip to the ER in doing it. Good luck

Sonia, here's the link Newway mentioned: You can check in with others going through tramadol withdrawal pretty much 24\7.

http://www.medhelp.org/user_journals/show/136095

At day 3, you are well into the worst of it & should soon start to feel at least some of the symptoms ease up.

There are OTC remedies that may help, hard to get them I know when you don't have the energy to leave bed but check out this health page summary:

http://www.medhelp.org/health_pages/Addiction/Ingredients-that-Help-with-Opiate-Withdrawal/show/593?cid=66

As a first priority, I would try DLPA; immodium; gatorade or other electrolyte replacement &
Nytol or similar for sleep.

Getting out in the sun first thing & walking as soon as you are able will help to regulate your sleep cycles.

You are well on the way to winning this race, hang on & I guarantee you won't regret it, ( & you have the cash you save just in time for Christmas).

It's so worth it to take control back and not to have to live around a pill bottle. It's great to just be able to get up and go to the grocery store and not have that trip depend on whether or not you have enough pills to get you there and back.

I understand what you are going through, been there done that.My doc was vicodin and I was spending a fortune buying them off the streets. For most drugs going c/t ,as long as you don't have a serious past medical history,is a viable option.I'm just concerned because I have read many post here that say going c/t off of trams is not a good idea.Again keep posting.Sara and I have put the word out.Someone with some experience should be along real soon.

Make sure you are drinking plenty of fluids like gatorade or vitamin water.  Try taking hot showers or baths as that will help with the achyness.  I know this is hard so keep talking to us..........sara

I don't have any personal  experience  with trams, just what  I have learned from  the  people here, and thats that this drug is supposed to be tapered because of the risk of seizure going c/t.Hopefully Avisg or someone who knows a lot more then me will be here soon to help you. What type of w/ds are you experiencing right now? What type of past medical history do you have?Keep posting,it's still early and weekends are a little slow here but more will come who know about this drug.
