i tried out patient and therapy
usually people that end up in na are like me
they have tried medicine, religion and psyhciatry
and when the after care, shinks and anti-depressants didnt work
they tried na
i love it, been clean for 4 years as a result
as suggested by another post
try different meetings, but also read the liturature in both programs
even if you go with na read the aa 12 and 12
and if you go with aa read the na basic text
both books are free online

NA is a great resource...i landed in an AA group just because i felt more comfy there...u may need to go to several different groups to find the one that fits for u...but u learn from each group u go to...and it is free...there are also addiction specialists that u can see but i can not afford it 301-656-3920
there are also online meetings : smartrecovery dot org
aftercare is so important...especially for the next several months...take advantage of it...stack everything u can in ur corner
I think that is a great idea ,I tried white knuckling it the first time I detoxed and I made it over 5 months and then I of course had a relapse because I had no support system in place. When I got clean this time it took a while but I started seeing a therapist it was the best decision I could have ever made for myself next week I will have a year clean.so I am living proof that aftercare works. Na or therapy what ever fits you .Some people speak to a pastor there is something call smart recovery. In the health pages the is a recovery guide take a look at it might be very helpful.
