Tylenol 3 is codeine with Tylenol. It's an opiate.
Just forget that and concentrate on you. Try some Motrin 800mg every 8 hours for that knee. Get some exercise and distract yourself. Think about what you're going to do for support and recovery care. This is all mental now so you need to get help with that, okay?
Hey there, Codeine (INN) or 3-methylmorphine (a natural isomer of methylated morphine, the other being the semi-synthetic 6-methylmorphine) is an opiate.
Don't be too hard on yourself, one dose is not the end of the world, and not what I would classify as a relapse. I'm sure it will kick the cravings in big time, you just lit up your opiate sensors and they will want more.
You have been through the WDs, you won't have to go through those again. Now comes the hard part, the mental part (cravings). It's a daily battle and one you can never let your guard down on. A lot of people say NA/AA are great support groups, especially for cravings. Something you may want to consider.
That's very good that you flushed the pills, the temptation to take "just one" can be overpowering.
Stay strong. Cravings are a *****, but you can do it. I can't answer the question on how long they last, but have no doubts they will be there, you just have to "just say no". Did I really just say that? lol
All kidding aside, take this as a small lesson, learn from it and move on. Getting clean is easy, staying clean takes real work.
Best of luck.
Gary
Only you can decide if this is a relapse. You flushed them down the toilet so that is a very good thing. Try the motrin like vicki said. You will get more relief from that. I would seriously think about aftercare. You are at the point where your brain will start playing some real mental games with you. You will learn the tools you need to stay clean. Get busy today, turn on some music, and continue moving forward..........sara
thanks guys, *****. the mental part...was driving home yesterday and felt this big need to get home faster, as if there was some reward or something there...realized jesus this is craving. this is that monster now that I am clean. shrink said cravings ( just called her) can last months and months...depending on the person...opiate sensors Gary, wow, they are sensors allright...shake rattle and roll your soul.
Your shrink is right. Cravings usually settle down the longer you are clean but they still present themselves so we always have to keep our guard up. Just remember you are stronger than those cravings. sara
I just ditched all the tramadol too. sorry environment, down the toilet.
