I am two years clean :)

I arrived here 740 days ago... a  female Howard Hughes desperate of finding some... hope ?  light ? help ? live ? and today i am 730 clean days :).

i read post after post and i was amazed by  the support, by the knowledge, by the way you, americans, supported each other here and how you deal with addiction by fighting and working on it. If they can do it, i can too. I even took the courage to undust my English, it was a matter of life for me, you know ? so i was really shy at first but little by little i took the courage to fight too. This post is mainly and mostly to thank all of you here .... I want to say that not even once  i have felt a foreigner here  but at home, thank you from the bottom of my heart !!!!!  :)

After 15 years using and abusing hydros i am proud to be 2 years clean. I could not have done it without you!!!. I have found people like me, addicts supporting each other without asking and helping those  who arrive asking for support and desperate of help like myself. Everyone who has taken something , has given back too, not matter if it was for hours, days, months... everyone who has come here, has given and taken .......each time we give, we are taking, that's the truth too.

we have to fight and work for our clean life , that's for sure, it may not be easy at times but i don't know of  a harder life than active addiction and life is hard  enough, sure.. active addiction  it is so hard that we are losing ourselves  and our health everyday and we are losing hope every day we use of ever recovering our lives back. . We are in charge of our attitude every day, we can do it because there is not  a lost case and it is a matter of  one day more for the people who is one day clean or 2 years is one day more that we are clean... . I swear that i thought of myself as a lost case and things do get better  much better with time and working on our recovery  !!

Thanks to all the people here , i will always be grateful to all of you, my fellow addicts... There are a great group of people i have met along the way that i call friends and you know who you are..some of you almost from the beginning, some of you from maybe yesterday... thanks to you too, friends :).

Laurel, This is fantastic!!  2 yrs is quite the achievement.  You are so deserving.  You have done this with real class girl.  You give so much to others on this forum and i want to say thank you for that.  My life is much richer becuz you are a part of it~~~I am really proud of you!!

Great post and thanks for your help. You've stated around and this board needs people with a strong (clean) history. It's one thing to be a week clean trying to help, it's another to be 2 years. Good work

Congrats to you on two years!!!! When new members come on here thinking the world is falling apart around them and they see posts like reassures them that is really is possible. Many people leave the group once they are clean but you have stuck around to offer your knowledge and support to others. It goes to show how big of a heart you have. You deserve nothing but the best! It's a never ending battle so keep **** what you are doing. Whatever you are doing it is working! Once again, congrats!!
