I just posted on your other question but figured I would here as well.  I successfull quite taking 20+ tramadol/ultrams per day by going on Subutex for 5 months.  That may seem like a long time to some but it was necessary for me.  Everyone is different but in my opinion you are making the right decision.  I was taking ultram for 3 years.  Four years is a long time and you may be on the subutex for a couple of months to help with the cravings.  I had no cravings for ultram at all while on subutex and still do not have any now.

Take care and good luck to you.

Agreed.  Funny how I just asked about that very thing the other day, Tramadol to Sub.  You probably will want to be on Sub for a very short time, like avisg said.  You might get yourself into a worse problem.

WOW .I would only take the sub for a very short time or you are going to end up with a much bigger problem most doctors wont prescribe sub to come off of tram .sub is sooo much stronger I would be very carful you were only taking 300 mg now you are on 16 mgs of sub that is way to much . that is why you are dissy and sleepy.

I'm sorry, but never taken Sub. However, i have kicked the Tram habit. If you're kicking the Tram habit w/out the WD's, consider yourself lucky!

From what I've read about Subox, you can take it and taper down to the point where you won't need those anymore either. However, i've also read that it may also be addictive, so be careful.

I'm sure someone else here will have a lit more info than me. Just wanted to say Good Luck and congrats on wanting to kick the habit. That's the toughest part for most people; admitting they have a problem and deciding to deal with it...so, good luck!!!!
