Brownie couldn't be more right!  U need at least a week (i needed more just to make na declarative statement!) Am now on day 24 and sitting in the parking lot waiting for the start of an N/A meeting.  U can do!!!!  I didn't think i could, but i did and i'm very glad i did!  Still struggling a bit w/ my mind that i know is messing w/me but its been a hell of a long time since i haven't had something in my system just to move. Once your on your feet, find a meeting! I am the "suburban" housewife w/ 4 kids, job, house, bills, etc...and was totally embarassed until i went to my first meeting. Now i go every day! It helps!

If I can do it without rehab that will be great, I've got two sons that live with me and I really can't miss work, and neither one of their moms would help me while I was away at a facility. And I'd be a nervous wreck if they did keep em. I know I can beat this I'm just terrified of the withdrawal symptoms. But thanks to everyone who posted, I'll keep yall updated, and tomorrow is the day I'm giving em up!! God Bless yall and I'm sure I'll be posting later today and lots tomorrow.

Hey there! I was on a high dose like u too except instead of hydro & adderall I was taking that much hydr plus ab 159 mg of Oxycodone. I did stop c/t. It is rough, I'm not gonna lie. But, it is doable. I was not able to go to a dr b/c I couldn't taper, I just had to stop. If it is possible, & u hv the means, muscle relaxers will help w/ Tylenol for the pain. Or a nerve medication like gabapentin or lyrica. Ur nerves will be on fire for about 7-10 days. Those drugs are very helpful to make it bearable if u can get them & they don't get u high. & they will help u sleep, which will become a problem. If u can't get any of those, antihistamine is surprisingly helpful(especially for the sleeping part). U will prob need to be in bed w/o too much responsibility for atleast a wk. Hot baths/ showers help too. Good luck! & keep posting! I'm new to this forum & still struggling w/ my addiction but this place & talking to others that have a clue what we're going through is a God-send! I've done several c/t w/ds & it is hard but doable!!

Hi and welcome to the forum. Ariley is right about the tapering. We are not allowed to give tapering advice. But you being on such high doses for so long. You may need a Dr.'s help. Have you thought about rehab? If you don't want to go to rehab, then I would suggest going to see a Dr. That's what they're there for. I tried having my husband dole them out for me, but as an addict, I would tear the house apart looking for them. So I'm not a fan of that idea. Unless they keep them in another house somewhere. I think going to see your Dr. is key. Good luck and God Bless.  You'll beat this thing!! Keep posting and let us know how you're doing, and what you've decided to do.

Hi Twisted and welcome! DO you get your meds through a doctor, or are you buying them on the street/getting them from friends? You are on a pretty high dose of both drugs, so your best bet might be to go to your doctor, be 100% honest and ask for a taper plan. A lot of us (most of us) are unable to taper, because if the pills are there, we will take them. One option would be to give them to a trusted loved one to hand out at specified times. The key for all addicts to successfully quitting is to tell our secret, cut our sources, and set up a good support system with aftercare such as NA/AA meetings, and/or counseling. Please stick around and keep posting. This is a great place to get support, encouragement, and advice. Once you quit, we can offer tips and tricks that helped to ease withdrawal symptoms. hang in there and take care. You can do this!!
