ugh can you detox with suboxone for just a couple days or do you have to be on it for a long time

I just wanted to detox fast off of methodone but all these posts are scarring me! I don't even get prescribed suboxine so what if I run out and can't get it. I've been of meth for 4 days and on suboxone. I don't want to be on anything Is the meth out of my system yet can I just stop taking this suboxone? As you can see I can't even type. I can't focus i'm probally not making any sense! I  strat a new job in a couple days!!! I have two kids  I need help

I also agree,go to a dr,i am just now tapering off of sub,x,it will give you your
life back,and you can function at a job,sub,s are expensive,hope you have
insurance,but i didnt at first either,i spent way more money on street drugs,
It seems what i have learned from listening to all here,that when you go on
sub,s with your drs help,just dont stay on them long term,which i did,
because everyone on here that stayed on subs for  a shorter time,it was
easier to come off of,,,,,,but for now,go to the drs,get help,so you can go to
work and function,get on sub,s,,then go from there,,,i am just starting
my process tapering off ,,very very slow,  I wish you all the best in the world,,lin392

a doctors guidance like avisg said is safe...how low was ur methadone dose?  kim715 can give u an idea about wds from methadone but i do know it lasts more than 4 days...more like 2-3 weeks..which is not an impossibility with sub but u need guidance from a doctor and to get off the sub in 21 days/or close to it/or then taper off the sub...such a process...if u were on 30 mgs or less of methadone then the sub may help u thru the worst part..no one here will encourage its use without a scrip tho...they can give u advice tho...good luck and it does sound like u r trying to move forward...be safe

it takes a lot longer then 4 days to get methadone out of your system .If you have already stopped the sub its really not going to do anything .If you are going to contue sub plz go to a doctor and have them set you up on a program .You can do short tapers on sub but 4 days is not going to be enough..

Please dont think that I am being harsh on you here - - but its not the best time to be changing jobs. Methadone takes a long time to get over. Anywhere from weeks to months. Not sure about your sub position. Ideally you wouldnt use the sub for more than three weeks anyway. You may just end up swapping addictions. Look at the right hand side of the page. Under Health Discussions there is much good reading about methadone. Several journals and posts. Most recomend an intense run of nutritional supplements to build yourself back up. Amino Acids are usually used to replace depleted brain chemicals. Sometimes the nutrition comes via iv since the methadone compromises gut function and you dont obtain proper nutrition from your diet. It isnt a fast or simple fix to anything. Read through the information available and get to know your enemy.  Knowledge is power with this one ...........and best of luck to you.......
