I believe the methocarbomol is robaxin.....one of the lesser problematic muscle relaxers available. Didnt work well enough for me....I use flexeril (cyclobenzaprine) now and its both a lttle more effective and hard to have an addiction problem with.
My dad was on methocarbamol for years. When he was in the army he was shot in the stomach and it came out through his spine. He had to take something everyday for it. The methoc. was the best thing for him. It didn't interefere with any of his other meds. He also took a percocet when he went to bed if he was in severe pain. It always amazed me that he took drugs like this for 40+ years and never became addicted and I became addicted after one surgery.
Hope you are feelings better soon.
Susan
I took it after my car accident this year and it really didn't help me. And it hurt my stomach.. I don't think its addictive.
I hope you feel better!
Hey girlie sorry about your pain, I know about tail bone pain ***** even though mine is better now that I put on some weight on my a***** if you know what I mean? lol
Nice to see you around here and no don't know anything about that med sorry
I have been taking methocarbamol for 2 weeks. I had a serious addiction to Klonopin. When I take the 2 together it cuts my Klonopin usage down by 90% and I don't have the social anxiety that I had before. I have had 7 knee surgeries, 2 ankle surgeries, and 3 hand surgeries. SO, I have been on Hydrocodone at dosages as high as 200mgs a day and i am off of that thanks to this drug. I just have a little trouble sleeping with it. I hope this helpps.

that is soma...and it is addictive..not as bad as klonopin but can be addictive for some people...it breaks down in the body to something very similar to a benzo..that is why u feel less need for the benzo,,,be safe with it
Methocarbamol (Robaxin, Robaxacet, etc.) is not Soma (carisoprodol) but is chemically related. It has some addiction potential, especial at higher than recommended doses, but not nearly as high as Soma or meprobamate.
I have considerable personal experience with it -- it was my DOC for many years, and it caused as much wreckage in my life as alcohol. Taken at the recommended doses it is probably safe for most non-addicts and addicts in good recovery, but "your mileage may vary" -- exercise caution as you would for any medication that carries the warning "Use caution in driving and operating heavy machinery".
