Well I need a root canal

So after not sleeping Monday night, and in tons of pain all day yesterday, I went to the dentist yesterday afternoon and found out that I need a root canal.  I ended up taking 2 vicodin last night to sleep and 2 this morning, but I think I will be good and not need to take anymore because I think that the antibiotic is starting to kick in.  I am sorry you guys, but I can't handle tooth pain at all.  My entire face was killing me.  I just needed to get that off my chest.

same situation here, I have had to get root canal done as well, on monday, the pain was unbearable, so I took codeine for that along with the regular pain med before going in for the dentist, tomorrow I have to go to get the filling done and get a cap made and it's such a headache on top of all my problems with trying to quit drugs....

Good luck with the root canal...often afterwards, the pain is much better...mom did not even have to take the darvacet they gave her...course my episode with pills probably scared her to death!

Thank you!  I don't think that I could make it through this without all of you.  Actually I know that I wouldn't have made it this far without all of you, because I have tried a few times in the past to stop and the furthest I got was 24 hours so this is really good for me.

oh sweetie, i know how you feel. but i promise it is only you feeling that way...please dont feel guilty.  you need it you took it and it helped.  i flushed the remainder of mine this morning.  i still hurt but i can control it with motrin.  you used responsibly.  that is a big step for an addict.  probably harder than quitting.  keep us posted

Thank you for the support.  My mouth is still throbbing but getting better and I did sleep last night but I woke up at 4 am with the worst headache b/c of the infection.  I am not sure when I am going to get the root canal, I have to call my insurance company.  I didn't realize it was 11:30 already, I better get on the phone and make a phone call.

I'm so sorry you have to go thur this now. Don't feel bad about taking med's for the pain, I've had that and i tell u that hurts big time, nothin like mouth pain thats for sure, as poor cathy knows huh....anyway don't beat yourself up about it, like u said you don't need anymore now.

Im sorry i just through it was part of the withdrawls, well it was the same thing i went through and hurt all the time, like i said my husband either knew it was tooth or i had no methadone, I hate pain myself, i cant stand it that i cant sleep,nor eat it seems like im always feeling sick to my stomach, ill be glad when its all over, i dont think its ever going to end.
You will get through this , when is your appt.with the dentist?
you'll feeling better after the root canal, hang in there.
