Wow, so much that I don't know about benzodiazepine tapering and the Doc isn't keeping me informed when we talk about my tapering aspirations.
How-ever, even being almost 30 days clean from the Trams, I still haven't been able to back down my dosage on the Benzo's to the pre-ct period. It's been more difficult that I had thought even though the higher dosage was for less than 30 days...
Anyway, perhaps I'm getting ahead of myself with all of my tapering aspirations and really need to slow it down...but ideally speaking if I could taper Now from the Benzos with chlorazepate or something like Lyrica that would be great! But again, after having been on Trams for as long as I had I might be pushing it at this point in time.
Anyway, thanks for the great info and I will discuss it with my doc soon. Please keep on sharing too!

i know someone who tapered per md order with chlorazepate..a weaker benzo..it worked
unless if lyrica is some type of new wonder drug, it sounds to me to be a very dangerous option versus doing a slow taper off of benzodiazepines, or perhaps some type of combination of the two while doing the slow taper.
I would definitely be interested in hearing more about this drug Lyrica. Any web site link(s) to this new treatment?
TIA,

so, you went ct from xanax with no taper?
How many mg's did you come off of?
TIA!
Hey.
I was on Xanax and was addicted, my doctor gave me Lyrica. Lyrica is a nerve pain drug prescribed for shingles. It is a new drug.
I was instructed to take my normal dose of xanax until my RX ran out, then immediately being the Lyrica for two weeks. I did, and it worked GREAT. Seriously. Lyrica is non narcotic, non addictive. It makes you feel very tired and a little lethargic- a little stoned.
I would most definitely ask the doc about Lyrica. It actually binds to the same receptors as benzodiazepines, so it tricks your body into thinking you are still taking them when you aren't.
W/D's from Benzos are the hardest. I wish you the best of luck!
