hi there,
just wanted to lend my support.  Kat did a great job of summing up all the key points.  I really want to stress the Thomas recipe, especially the Calcium / Magnesium / and Zinc supplements.  When you feel like you bones ache and can't stop wanting to move, this is a big help.

Also, I use Emergen C (available in the cough cold aisle; I get a big box of 30 at walmart for less than $10)  Emergen C is like a multivitamin with a whopping dose of vitamin C.  Some studies claim vitamin C is the answer to opiod withdrawal--I don't know about that but I do think it helps.  Also, you mix it with water twice a day so it helps keep you a little more hydrated)

another key is drink, drink, drink as much fluids as you can!  I am tapering from fentany and feel awful and want nothing to drink but have found that when you get dehydrated, you feel a lot worse.  I drink a lot of hot lemon tea with honey, that seems to be the only beverage I can tolerate.

I wish you the best,
Phoenix

Hi mc, and welcome to the forum! I went through the same thing you did. But I was taking the oxi's plus Tramadol and Vicodin every day like they were candy. And of course...always ran out in 2 weeks and I was screwed.
I have sciatica, and probably DJD if it's something wrong with your disks. I would go to your local pharmacy and get some Epsom salts. Put 1 or 2 cups in a hot tub and just soak. Take as many as you want. The magnesium in the Epsom salt takes all the drug impurities out of your body and also helps with rls for sure. Also take a look at the Thomas Recipe at the bottom of this page for other good things to take that will help you.  It's uncomfortable at the beginning for everybody, but it goes away more and more each day. Keep hydrated...very important. And a bit of chocolates won't hurt either. lol  Keep thinking about the person you used to be, and want to be again. You can do it!!  Keep posting and let us know how you are doing. And if you have any other questions just ask, we are here for you!!
