sleep is a very important thing for me as i work full time...i did take rx meds for sleep as i had to function...there are lost of remedies for natural sleep...no stress or exercise for a few hours before bedtime, a relaxing read, a hot rice bag on your neck/shoulders, calcium/magnesium at night, melatonin works for some...also...getting the house temp at sub zero slows your metabolism and helps you sleep, bundle up...course this is hard when others live in your house
This what I did.. Its kind of alot but it worked. 2 hours before bed I took 1 GNC Sleep Blend, 1 Melatonin, 1 L-theanine, and 3 tbs of liquid Calcium/Magnesium. I drank a cup of decaf tea. Took a hot, hot shower/bath. (which helps drop the body temp)
This worked better than lunesta.
Thanks folks,
I appreciate the bump confused456, that was really nice of you.
worried, FLaddict, I am going to try that combo tonight and see how that works. I am just curious, what does Calcium/magnesium help with? Is it to help relax?
Thanks again.
Yes it helps relax the muscles. Which in turn helps with sleep.
As far as the Melatonin, I got the kind that dissolves under your tongue. That way if I did wake up a few hours later I put another under my tongue and drifted off to sleep.
I'm only 10 days off subox & the sleep is the worst thing.I have been taking Ambien for some time and that does not help me at all right now.I do think I will try to get out & get the melatonin today. This would be a good time for me to get off the sleeping pills since I can't sleep anyways.A bedtime tea helped me a bit last night also.
I really think this is something that has to right itself - over time. I have big problems with sleep, and I see it here all the time. I did try every o-t-c supplement and even Ambien, and nothing worked. It gets better, it is better for me, although no where near what it should be, I'm just happy to be getting 4 hours. The PAWS thing scared the hell outta me too when I read that it may never go back to normal, but I'm hoping that won't be the case with me. Good luck to you, you're not alone.
