Percocet Abuse/Addiction

About a month ago I had a Hemmorhoidectomy, i was scheduled to take the Percocets just for that day, and if the pain was still present than to continue taking the Percocets for about another day or two(and than switching to Tylenol). As the days went by the pain eventually dissipated, but I found myself taking Percocets right before bed time(just ONE a day, no more no less). I was also finding myself taking Metamucil, as everyday that passed it was a bit hard for me to go to the bathroom, i was aware Percocets caused constipation, but I guess I just compltely disregarded that fact. Now, im scared to death, after everything that ive read ive become extremely paranoid, thinking that I may now be an addict. The percocets give me such an incredible drowsy sensation, that just knocks me out within half an hour. I sleep great. As i write this, its been approximately 24 hours since my last pill(yesterday) I am a little tired, but worried. What can i do?

Hi there!
There's nothing to do; just relax. You are not an addict but you took the Percocets when you no longer needed them. I do understand...Don't be scared or worried. You'll be fine.
Just don't ever take pain medicine if you're not in pain...it's that simple.

I know that particular surgery is unpleasant.  Did the Metamucil work for you? You're so right. Percocet can make you very constipated so that's another reason to stay away from it.  If you have any left,it would be best to dispose of them in an evironmentally friendly way.

Take care-
