Percocet Withdrawal

Hello,

Last week I decided to quit taking percocets cold turkey and went through all the withdrawal syptoms (sweats, nausea, depressions etc) anyways I didn't use them for 4-5 days but then yesterday took 45 mg of percocet again. I am pissed at myself and determined not to sure again. Should I expect to go through all the withdrawal symptoms again? Thanks

Don't beat yourself up over this, like bobby said, dust yourself off and get back on track.  If sports guy is right, then it won't be as bad this time and today is Day #1.

I felt really badly when I relapsed but then got over it and am happily now on Day #14.

You can do this....keep posting and Good Luck!

No, you will not go through withdrawals.

People don't understand that if you are through with withdrawals, and then use for a small amount of time, you will not go through physical withdrawals.  It takes some time of relapse to actually gain back the physical dependence, BUT it may develop faster and be worse than the previous time.  Before you get addicted, it would probably take 2 weeks of everyday use to get physically dependent.  If you kick this, the next time maybe a week. After this, a number of days--but it will never go under a number of days.  If you physically clean, you will always have to use for a number of days to get dependent again.

Some people think that if you once had a physical dependence, that any amount of opiates in the future will make you dependent again.  It couldn't be farther from the truth, really, and is usually just a method to scare people from relapsing.

The w/d's shouldn't be to bad this time. But like worried said, try to reconize you triggers so it won't happen agian. You hit a bump so just brush yourself off and keep going.
good luck to you.

sorry to say that since you took so much so soon after withdrawls and you don't sound like you were through, it will probably come back

ya I was pretty much finished with withdrawals I think, the only thing that was bugging me was the anxiety which I am feeling right now, that led me to use again. Also, still feeling some serious depression lows from time to time
