Physical vs. Psychological Addiction

Thank you all for you uplifting support and kindness.  I already feel better and feel so encouraged by many that have kicked this and are living a life again.  Tramadol is evil and the physical side effects are real.  My question is....when do I know that my withdrawal symptoms are physical or mental?  I know the big ones...the nausea, cramping, muscle aches...etc...  But, my inability to quit thinking about it.  Today..I felt like I couldn't function.  Not so much physically hurting....just miserable.  How do you kick the mental part.  Does it last longer than the physical?

Thanks,
Lynn

How long have you been off them? Avisg knows a lot about tramadol, but i know that it really messes with the head for awhile after from what i have read. Are you talking more about cravings and emotions? The mental part of addiction is the toughest and lasts longer than the physical. That's why aftercare is so important to stay clean and learn how to deal with life sober. You will get some better advice in a bit. keep posting and congrats on quitting.

Well I think you are 5 days clean right? The physical should be just about gone. Now it's the mental thats the real work belive it or not, if you ask me. You are doing great. Just keep busy, take long walks and come on here. This form is what got me through and still does everyday. Each day you will feel better and better. You have just been through a lot. Give it a bit you will feel beter before u know it. keep up the good work!
