hang in there. I'm watching ya'! I'll let you know how I'm doing too.
I fully understand the pain thing. I don't want to see you in pain.
Stay strong

I went to the store and couldn't find L-tyrosine, the max RDA I could find of potassium was 3% even in a separate supplement, and I couldn't find any multi with 100% RDA of magnesium, or zinc. So All I got was a liquid b-complex, I figured it would be better absorbed with my ostomy than a pill. And I asked the pharmacist if I could take immodium for the rectal spams, and he said yes, they should help, even though I can't have actual diarrhea. So, I am off to w/d. So far so good, I guess. Its only been 6 hours but that's like an eternity for me already.
I am not doing CT because I am very nervous about the actual pain I am taking the drug for in the first place. I want to do it slowly and see what happens. I read about your CT and am so proud of you and a little envious. I wish I were that brave, but I'm not...yet! I wish you luck and I'll keep tabs on how you're doing if you keep an eye out for me, k?
The goal is to keep a SMALL, steady amount in your system. Not enough to get 'high', just enough to ward off some WD's and help your body adjust. Go to 'FLaddict' profile. In her journal she has a GREAT article that starts...'time for some techinical talk'....or message her for some help. The point is you want to keep the levels steady so your body has to work on it's own to produce what it needs but it still has some opiates to help out. cut the pills in half and quarters. Figure out how many hours you are awake and then space em out. (Possibly a slightly larger dose in the a.m. and the final p.m. dose.)
So....2 pills and lets say you're gonna be up for ~14 hours and you want to take em every 2-4 hours to keep levels steady = 1/2 at wake up (8 am?) 1/4 @ 11 am, 1/4 @1 pm, 1/4 @ 4 pm , 1/4 @7 pm, 1/2 @ 10 pm. Anyway-you see the way it works.
Since you are cutting back so much there will be WD's. You have spare time and help with the kid-why not just CT it and get it over? Just a thought. I was tapering and finally am going CT. Today is day one. The taper was just killing me anyway.
Seriously consider CT-
Hang in there and you will get through this

I had another question. How should I space the pills? Should I take one every 12 hours or a half every 6 hours? One in the morning and a half two times later in the day? What's best? I want to have maximum relief during waking hours and will drug myself with my benzos and nausea meds to get through the night. (Safely, of course, as prescribed.)
Thanks! I will be hanging in there! I actually haven't started the Thomas' yet, because I was tapering really slowly, I just didn't know if it helped at all with a taper or just for CT. I'll get the stuff ASAP! Thanks again.
Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes.
You will probably start to feel it--that is a drop. If the recipe is helping now, then stay with it. Just be sure to keep yourself hydrated and try and keep some food in, if you can.
Normal to be nervous--great that you are excited. Hang in there!
You bet we will be here for you. I'm not sure how bad your withdrawals will be . Time will only tell. Yes I think the Thomas receipe will help some. We are here. Keep us posted & good luck. Mary
