Help with my pill addiction

Me and my boyfriend started doing prescription pills occasionally about 3 years ago.  We are now addicted and cannot stop.  We started where we just took a couple one night and that was it and then it got worse and worse and now we can do anywhere from 6-10 roxys every day.  We have lost everything.  We are in debt up to our ears and we just cannot stop.  We have two sons and this is ruining our lives.  We have tried to stop a number of times and make it a couple of days and then give in and buy some.  The withdrawl systoms are horrible and we cant seem to get through them.  I feel worried and depressed every day.  It has ruined our lives and we want to stop so bad but can't.  Please any advice is appreciated.

its not an easy thing to do is something we have all went through....i just kicked a 10-20 roxy habit.....like i said one of the hardest things i ever did.....but it was well worth it...im 42 days off the pills...its amazing what a little support from this site can do for you mentally....i came on here thinking of stopping but thought there was know way in hell i could stop at the point i was at......after reading some other stories i knew it could be done....it just takes wanting to stop if you dont really want it you will never be able to kick it.

when you guys stop do you stop at the same time?  have you tried one stopping first so you have somebody to care for you?

Glad you found this forum.  They say you have to hit "rock bottom" to start to get better and every one's bottom is different.  You are not alone, believe me.  There are a lot of good people on this site that can give you good advise. You said you have tried to stop a number of times.  Most of us have tried many times as well but you have to keep on trying. Don't ever stop trying!  You got through a couple of days and that is enormous!   One day at a time and you have each other to give each other strength to get through it.  What better reason could you have than to be there for your two sons.  You can do this and do this together.  I have read many posts on this forum of couples that have become sober "together".  Read through them because it really helps.  Were you prepared for your detox?  There are natural supplements you can take, look up Thomas Recipe under health Page at the bottom of this page.It has a lot of natural things that really help.  (Most found in a good drug store or GNC store)   Do you have any support from your family to help with your kids?  Have some light foods ready, even if you don't feel like it, try to eat something and drink plenty of water, juice and gatorade.  Take long and often hot soaks in the tub/shower if you don't have a tub.  Rent some of your favorite movies, rest when possible, (sleep is tough in the beginning but it will come). Do any thing to keep busy and that keeps your minds active.  In a couple of days, you can start a little walking or light exercise.  It takes time to undue a lot of garbage we put in our systems but you will eventually feel a little better with each day.  Keep posting and reading this board.  It helped me so much.  It is so worth it for you and your boys.  God Bless.  You can do it!  Lynne

Everything you need to know to stop is on this site. For me it helped to read about all the people that have quit even though it is hard. They just did it. So did I. Before I came here I thought it was a lot more difficult than it is. You just have to get ready in your head and do it. Lots of people do. You can to. The site is great and there are lots of people here to help you. Good Luck!
