Read up on it..PAWS is very real for many folks. I had never heard of it and had no idea there was a mental portion to this whole mess. Then it hit me like a ton of brix about 3 weeks after I stopped. I had a mild wd 3-4 days...and then just thrived off the excitement of quitting for a few weeks..then BOOM!
.
For me it consisted of extreme fatgie, loss of motivation, and depression. I could sleep 16 hrs a day and had to do rocket shots to get to work. I went nowhere, social life was nil, and I got depressed. PAWS almost did me in until I got up off the couch and started going to the gym daily unless it killed me. I re-read the thomas recipe and took the supps in the recommended doses with Tyrosine helping my nrg the most. I posted everyday and trumped up my meetings. I made it thru but almost caved big time.
The first 90 days can be tough and is when 80% or more will relapse. Having a plan and support is crucial. AA has a saying, 90 mtgs in 90 days and this is why.
It is do-able but being prepared for it is important if it happens to u. Posting here saved me because I learned how to make it as the folks here r so helpful. The health pages are full of great info so read thru it if u can.
And keep posting
