Thank you all so much for your reply. The pounding seems to have let up. Yeah it was crazy bad but no chest pain. Will it come back? I am heading into day 2. Does caffeine make wd symptoms worse?

I suppose that most of us will agree that pounding is normal during withdrawal but is of course not "normal" in general.  So expect it to be a bothersome symptom, but be open to seeing a doctor if needed. Pain in the chest for example (which of course you did not mention) is Not a normal withdrawal symptom and should dealt with medically.

Hi there, just want to reiterate what Vickie said, yes the heart will pound louder and harder when  you are in withdrawal, I believe it happens to all of us. when I was detoxing I felt my heard pounding right out of my chest and was really worried about it, it doesn't seem normal, but it is. In any case if this continues for a while, you should get it checked, it will reassure you and you can continue on with your detox. Good luck, hope things work out for you, this is not easy but it can be done, Take care

Hi..This is normal during withdraws. They have a name for this but I can not think right now..However, if it continues for two many days go to the Dr..You can go to the Dr and get the clonidine BP Med they use for opiate detox all the time..This will help your heart not pump as hard and if taken at night it will help with sleep & anxiety.
Please do not take this heart issue too lightly after a few days..Go to a DR and be Safe..Believe me I know!!!!
I noticed your other post. It is way easier for us if you just stick to one for awhile..YOU really have to want to do this for YOU and YOU only. Look at it like you really want to live your Life out with no Health problems down the line. You do not want to hit a rock bottom so hard that it has to make you scared straight!! Thank of your future and all of the things you can have plus all the blessing that can happen. Get SUPPORT because this is a disease and when we have any disease we do not do this alone..SUPPORT is your number one priority right now.
I wish you the best this time around..Just do it and take a new path.
Bless
