tramadol withdrawl

I have been taking Tramadol for over two years for shoulder surgery  Whenever I try to stop I just go into withdrawals.,  I told my doctor a year ago  I wanted to quit and was given 21 to detox with.  I take from 8 to 12  a day, so this amount wouldn't even touch it.  Here I am again, with just a few pills, wanting to detox.  I was told that Kratom would help, does anyone know about this?    I do have  Clonidine at home, I can take that, too.  Please someone reply, I am down and depressed!!

Welcome to the forum!  Tramadol is a totally synthetic opioid and also has an antidepressant component in it so can be more difficult in some ways to w/draw from but can absolutely be done!  I read in your other post that you get these pills online...which also means you aren't guaranteed what's actually in them, ya know?
Using Kratom is probably not a good idea....it, too, affects opiate receptors and isn't "controlled" so you don't actually know what you are getting from your supplier.  It can be addictive, too....so forumulating a plan to get off the trams is probably your best bet. (your stomach issues will get better for sure once you get off them, too)  Some forum members here have cold turkeyed off Trams....other's have not.  Some had seizures while ON the Trams...others have not.  There is a seizure risk depending on YOU so that is why others recommend tapering.  But....if you're like me, tapering didn't ever work.  If I had pills in my possession....I went into panic mode and just took more and more....when I fully intended to taper.

It would, of course, be best to get your dr involved for utmost safety, but if you have been there..done that...and get your pills online, I understand why you don't want to do that.  Just know that would be SAFEST for you.

There is a wonderful group of Tramadol Warriors that talk amongst themselves about the particulars specific to Tramadol addiction and w/drawal.  They have been doing this since Emily Post started a journal way back in 2008. (bless her big heart!)  They are actually on Journal #61 now.  I'm thinking it would bless you A LOT to read those journals....so here's the link for their most current journal:

I wish you well on your journey to freedom~

I would def get on board with your doctor again...or find a new one....You're not suppose to CT trams....you would be at risk for seizures....good luck and keep posting here for support....more people will come along and give you more advice that have quit trams...there's actually a group on here with people that have stopped trams....

I am not sure about the Kraton but the clonidine will help with your blood pressure.  It definitely sounds like you don't have the self control to taper so I am sure you know that going cold turkey, although harder, is likely the way you are going to have to do this.  If you have the option of going to a treatment center for the detox it would be beneficial.  If you do not have that option talk to your dr again and see about getting some other meds to help you through it.  There are anxiety med that are not addictive.
Either way keep coming back here for support as it will help.  There are a lot of people on here who have been through it and can offer support.
