Hello guys and gals. 31/M here. I've had chronic back problems that got really bad back in Late '08. It was to the point where doing the dishes for 10 minutes meant hours of back pain afterward. Around that time, I had my tonsils taken out, and was prescribed percocet and oxycontin. I was prescribed enough to last well-over the time it took for my tonsils to heal. During this time, I experienced no back pain, so I went to a pain doctor and started taking painkillers as part of my daily life. At one point, I was taking 50-100 mg of morphine per day (time release) along with ten norco 10's. I decided to be done so I began to wean off by myself. I have successfully weaned off of the morphine, and am now down to 7 norco 10's per day. I have been cutting off 1/2 pill from my daily intake every 4-5 days. Basically, the WD's that I'm experiencing are irritability, depression, and back pain (even in places I didn't use to have it before taking pain meds). I'm a little concerned that I may have kidney problems. Basically, EVERYTHING seems to hurt more. Is there any signs I should look for to know if I need to go get my kidney's checked out? How about my liver? Other organs? Blood? Is exercise OK? Also, is there any problem with the way that I am weaning off of norco? Is there any saftey/health concerns from those who may have experienced the road I am now walking? Is there any natural supplements that I should be taking to cleanse my blood/organs? I am strong willed. I will get through this. I just want to do it the safest/easiest way possible. I should add, to anyone advising me, that I am sill prescribed morphine, and have an "endless prescription" on norco, so I can wean off as slowly as I need to on the norco, and if switching to morphine is wise, that is an option. But I want to be off as quickly as I can without torment. Any wisdom from those who have experience would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for reading
