Hi, congratulations on getting off subs! 16mg is a lot to jump off so I can only imagine how you must be feeling. But, you're 5 days in already!
I just finished a long taper off of methadone and today is 3wks clean for me!
The vitamins from the Thomas Recipe (listed here on this site), really helped me with my withdrawal symptoms. In particular, the 3 in 1 Zinc, Magnessium, and potassium really helped. Benedryl for sleep, Ibprofren or Tylenol for aches and pains, lots of water, immodium for diareah.
Keep posting for support and good luck!
it is not easy every h I am just thinking to call my Doc and ask f or some Suboxon. But I need to stay strong!! The Kratom help little but not much.
I will go do some shopping today from your list!1
thank you!!!!
And same to U!!!! Congratulation!!
I am just afraid then using Kratom I am kidna cheating .But I did search on line foe hours and looks like if I use it just for few days I should not have a problem with it.
It is not easy but I have to do it for my Kids!! I do not want wake up every morning and first thing about the subs and feel better then see my sweet sons!!! I love them so much and thank you God they are in my life!!!
I'm hopingnsome who've come off subswill chime in. You're jumping from a big dose. The upplements in the Thomas recipe will certainly help. I don't know much about Kratom other than it can also cause dependence so be careful with that. You sound very convicted about getting off so that's a great start!
Hey, im almost 7 months off subs, your very brave jumping from 16mg.
In my opinion, i dont think any natural med will help too much because of your high jump.
You would of been good to jump from 1mg or less.
But you didnt so dont worry : )
When i jumped, my prescribing doctor gave me Clonidine ( Non Addictive ) and Valium to take together and this made a very comfortable detox for me.
But beware, Valium is highly addictive, so i only used 5mg a night for 8 days then stopped. I still slept 8 hours a night after stopping Vals.
I believe this may be the only thing that will give you relief as you jumped so high.
Well done for stopping.
You also could go back to your doc and ask for a taper plan off subs.
Please note, this is only my experience of subs and yours may completely differ.
Good luck, be brave : )
Hey...and welcome to the forum. I to, did exactly what your doing now, in Jan, 2014. It's going to be hard having to go to work, but it can be done. The following is a list of what I took that helped ease it a bit....BTW...stay away from the benzos while detoxing as they are very easy to get addicted to:
Epsom salts for long hot bathes
Gatorade and water
Immodium a.d.
L-tyrosine from GNC
Gaba 750 also GNC
Magnesium, potassium and a good multivitamin
Motrin (2-3 200mg)
Yeah, I know right now ***** the big one but try not to take anything that u might have to w/d off of later....music, earbuds in my ears, nothing to hard, happy upbeat music! For the leg cramps I found that hylands rls helped but also did some diabetic support hose my husband bought me. I literally jumped from 24 mg to 0 mg in about 1 1/2 weeks, so get ready. It took me approximately 21 days to start feeling anytype of upswing. I don't tell you this to scare u, I'm telling u this to be honest....the subs take longer to get off of over opiates. Good luck to u, post when u feel like ****, and I will be sending u positive vibes!!!
I had a good experience with suboxone.i was given 60 per month and stayed on them for over 2 years most of the time I did,nt do but 8mg a day.iwaned down to 2 mg per day and some days I would forget to take that.i know some hard corers who are on them indefinitely.but its still a drug but it did,nt give a drug effect.don,t know the longterm side effects but I think it is a great drug for people that can,t stop using and ya,ll know a few of them .pease out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

thank you to All!!! yeas so far today is the worst!!but I am already here day5-6 and do not want to go back to sub. The hardest part is at work lucky I am I the office but is no fun talk on the phone when u feel like ****!! I took some trazodone for sleep and I think it help little 5-6hours sleep.
Again thank u to all and Please God help me !!!
Make sure you are staying hydrated and eating small amount s of food every hour or two. Drink protein shakes. Move around as much as possible.
What are you worst symptoms?
Today is a hell!! I my ask for couple days off but won't be easy (Heating and cooling) .So hard talk to people on the Phone so hard .
4hour past so just 7-8 more and I be at home.
My worst just no energy for anything. feel so nervous ,my hand feels like are connected to 460 volt outlet.SO far my legs are ok. Shaking a lot.
thinking to call my Doc for some Valium maybe .
Where you getting your suboxone from a doctor?
Do you have any left? 16mgs is a very high jump.
U r right in the thick of it and the shaking and anxiety are normal. Before u gi with the valium please try the gaba 750, or maybe the valerian root first and see how it feels. It doesn't take long for your body to adapt to those benzos and getting those out of your system is gonna suck!!!! Tell your boss u have the flu or stomach bug, ****, start throwing up (shouldn't be too hard) and ask for thurs and Fri off!!!! I didn't leave my bedroom for about 2 weeks....u need some down time to get this done! Thinking of u! Remember, once your done, you will be so proud u did this! Push yourself.....hard!!!
Are you still using the marathon? That is addictive too.
Getting clonidine ( blood pressure med) from your doctor will definitely
help. It is given very regularly for withdrawal. Low dose of valium could be beneficial, but also addictive.
Auto correct. Kratom not marathon.
Coming off that dose of Subs is really really rough. The people who taper down to 0.5mg/day or less do the best coming off. On the other hand, you've made it several days without any sub, and that's commendable!
My advice to you is, rather than turning to other addictive medications (ie Valium) or habit forming substances, like Kratom, if this gets VERY rough and you cannot stand it, turn to your doctor for help, with some non habit forming meds like clonidine. If that route doesn't work, then perhaps going back on a much LOWER dose of subs and tapering down to a VERY low dose (like I mentioned above) before jumping would be the best approach. You'll still have some level of w/d symptoms, but nothing like you're having coming off 16mg.
Keep up the great work, and keep talking to us!
just a little but looks like Kratom does not help .I know can be addictive but I won,t use it for more then few days.Just for the worst WDS.but I can tell u this it is hell!!
thank you all again!!
no no more for me plus plus I am where I am. I know some people done it and I want to be one of them. I want take my kids to see fireworks and if I feel ok I promise I will take them for biggest fireworks in our life!!!!!
4th of July is on the way!!!!
The above advice is right about tapering to the lowest dose u can handle then jumping but like u said, your in it! Today should be day 6 and u don't want to look back. I totally forgot to mention, but they did above, the protein shakes are a must!!! Your appetite is probably non-exsistant and dehydrating makes u feel way worse than u have to. U MUST get something in your stomach with nutritional value. A total must! Gatorade, drink, drink, drink!!! Can u get some time off from work?
Ok then we will proceed from here no going back.
Try some relaxing teas, sleepy time, kava tea, make iced tea out of
It and yes some valerian root drops.
Get up when you can and take a walk outside.
Again hydrating is very important, flush out the toxins.
Suboxone has a long half life so it takes much longer to get
Out of your system.
Exercise will help repopulate your natural brain chemistry.
Keep on keepin on.
Keep the faith.
You are doing awesome. Congrats on your clean time and your desire
To get clean.
Debbie
