I, as well have been on percocet 10/350 for over a year and a 1/2, in the begining I was taking it every 4 hours, then every 6, on so on. At one point i was able to go down to 5ml, but when the weather started to get bad I had to swich back. I finally decided last week that i was finished being dependent on the stuff and I am cutting back to 5ml every 12/13 hours. Last night is the first night i got to 15 hours with min. symtoms. Every day is a challange but I am taking clonidine with the percocet, so it masks the withdrawl a bit and it increases the feeling of the percocet. I suggest you ask a doctor about it, rather than going on something like soboxone(sp?).
I was on percocet for 12 years (along with oxycontin and fentalyn patches). The tapering was harder than when I jumped off at 7.5 mg of percocet per day. Depending upon how many you are taking, I would just cut the pills down in half until you feel reading to cut them again. You shouldn't need a drug rehab if you can hold on to the pills yourself without taking more (if not, get someone else to hold them for you).
While u r in the health pages...get the thomas recipe and the amino acid protocol as well...lots of support here
Tapering is how i quit...some do longer tapers that others...I did it quickly..it also depends on how many you are taking each day and when u want to quit...some have a limited amount of pills to work with as well...main idea is reducing your dose over time..good to write out a schedule..and never take large doses but rather small doses thru the day like 5-6 times a day...there is an article on tapering in the health pages to the right under DISCUSSION..let us know what you need...keep posting
