Tapering off of Tramadol 100mg/day

I searched the internet for tramadol withdrawal and found this wonderful group, so here I am :)
I have been taking tram since 2011, when I started with 50mg/day. I found it helped with my chronic headaches, as well as social anxiety and depression. I was much happier while on tram. I was not concerned about the drug because it was supposedly non-addictive. Further research has proven that to be highly incorrect.

Fast forward to the current situation. I have been taking 100mg/day in 25mg increments for the past two years. I also take 150mg/day of Effexor for depression. Since tram has been rescheduled, I will no longer be able to get perscriptions as easily, so I figured it would be a good time to taper off and be done with it. I decided on a 10% per week taper (I have plenty left over to go slowly) and am half way through my second week. I don't really notice much in the way of symptoms, other than more headaches and neck pain than usual, although my wife mentioned that I seem edgy.

Does my plan sound reasonable? Anything I can do to ease the transition?

Hi Shiny!  I just thought I would pop in and say "Good job!"  You're doing great if you are tapering as planned.

How do you feel?  Any withdrawal symptoms?   Hope to hear from you again!

My best,

.R

Hello and welcome. It sounds like a solid plan.
It's good you are on the effector it will help.
Tramadol also has an anti depressant component to it.
You have stayed on a 'very low of trams, good for you.
You will do great.
Take hot epsom salt baths for the aches and pain.
Increased pain is common in detox.
Keep the faith.
You will do this.
