I defintly agree with u. Yes I've been lucky to have a great counselor who I've been talking to about my addiction for the past 2 years. I've start writting n a notebook about what to do when I start to have cravings. What vitamins to take that my body has been missing. Hobbys to take up. I defntly know my addiction is not cured that I have to do the work. When I first started at the clinic, I stopped hanging around people who did pills, went thru my cell and deleted the dealers. Got rid of those who I thought were my freinds but only wanted me for the pills I had. I feel pretty lucky bc I have a wonderful fiancé who has been w/ me from the start of my addiction. He's been very supportive of me in the last two years. He doesn't do anything like drugs or even has a drink. He's so good for me and bc of that has made it pretty easy for me. Don't get me wrong I know Its gonna take some time for me to deal w/ my addiction but I'm more then ready to do it w/out having to take anything. Ty for yr words I always look forward to hearing back from u
The question is "are you ready to be drug free"? You've had your addiction placed into remission the last few years. It hasn't gone away. Have you been doing any type of counseling or aftercare during your maintenance therapy? If not, you may want to discuss with your doctor a longer term Suboxone schedule. If you have the tools to be clean, then short term is better. Please, don't be fooled into thinking that just because you've been on opiate maintenance that the addiction is cured or gone. It will come back with a vengeance if you don't have the tools to deal with it.
