Vicodin withdrawal

Hi, I am writing this to ask if anyone can tell me how long my withdrawals will last from vicodin I have been taking them for the past 4 months or so, it started at a few a day then I went to about a average of 10-12 a day, they were 5mg(when I got the 10mg I would take them in half so it was like taking the 5's). I am now on day 4 1/2(yes I am even counting the half day) :) I feel much better then I did on day 2 but I still really don't feel like I can eat...I have been eating applesauce and jello for the most part. I have only been able to sleep for 4 hours a night and when I wake up I get the feelings of a withdrawal. I was thinking of getting melatonin(sp) and some other form of sleep aid like tylenol pm. Any suggestions would really be great! I know I am getting close, but any help would be great! This site has helped me out alot in the first couple of days! Thank you!

it shouldn't be too bad. It's the easiest of all narcotics to kick, but it's still sux.

Well, after feeling pretty good most of the day, I just started into having not being able to sit still and sweaty hands...I wish this would go away, it is weird because I don't have even a urge to take any pills, but I get these feeling every so often...I guess it is just my body still reacting to not having vicodin. I just wish it would go away.

Tim, Thanks for the encouragement! I actually just left the house for a couple of hours, I had to go do some running around, felt pretty good the whole time I was out. I am glad to hear you are doing good! Sounds like we are about on the same timeframe as far as when we stopped taking the pills! I wish you the best of luck! Maybe tomorrow is the day that we both feel "mostly" normal :)

I had a 12 a day habit of 10/500 for 2.5 years.  I finally decided to get off cold turkey.  I am on day four now and feel so much better. I ate little at a time but did eat.  I had tremors and only slept a couple hours at a time.  My legs would shake like mad.  I now feel so much better. I took some advice and walked around the house for ten minutes a few times a day.  Then I would take a hot shower three times a day that helps.  Today is the first time I was able to leave the house and do something.  I went and got a deep massage. Wow it felt good.  A few more days and it will be over.
Hang in there

Getting something to sleep should really help. Insomina can sometimes stick around after the other symptoms go away. You should be feeling much better in a few days. You are doing great keep up the good work!!
