Hello richardcr27 - welcome. If you check out the bottom right of the forum page under Health Pages there is the Thomas Recipe. Lots of useful info about vitamins, etc to help ease withdrawal. DO NOT start again. You can do this. I know its awful but you've made it 4 days and you can make it 4 more, and more after that. How long were you on? How many mgs did you jump from? Are you doing this via a doctor? I have heard clonidine (a bp med) can help with the goosebumps/hot/cold issue. You will need it from a doctor though. Other than that - take some otc advil to help with the pain, take many many hot showers/baths (I lived in the shower for days on end coming off sub) and just be strong and wait it out...As bad as you feel some mild exercise can help with the pain, twitching etc. I forced myself to take half hour walks.. I dont know how much the helped really but I know for a fact that I was not fixating on my misery while on them. Sleep will come. This will pass and you will feel better. You just have to wait it out and be strong. You can do it! Believe me, if I did it you can do it! Many people here have been exactly where you are.. its awful but it does pass and you will feel better. Count the minutes if you have to and keep posting! Finding this forum and posting on here gave me the support I needed to go through that detox. You can do it too! Take care.
sounds alot like what i went through... my doctor checked my testosterone levels and found out that they were very low (opiates stop your body from making testosterone) so my doc gave me a shot of testosterone and in 4 days i felt like a new man... now i get a shot of testosterone every two weeks and i feel great...
I do think that the same things that helped other narcotic wds can help u as well..the health pages is full of great info..time is the key...time will heal...but in the meantime there r lots of things u can do to help the symptoms...sumpin for sleep and anxiety is important for many cos sleep is important to recovery...talk to ur dr about a safe med..or otc things like valerian or melatonin..the amino acids/thomas recipe are awesome..exercise pumps up endorphins..even if u feel like a big blob..if u get up and move u will feel better...stay busy//mavies, books..clean out a closet or a drawer...but move...and keep posting
