There is no way I could have tapered! If I had pills, I took them...nothing in moderation! CT was the only way I could have done it. Do what you have to do, though.
Just stay strong and fight through the withdrawals!

Hi Dude!

I would personally throw the pills in the toilet and get the withdrawals over with. Yes, you will feel crappy for several days but you will also be on the path to getting your life back. You already want to do this so why not start now? Make sure if you do that you drink plenty of water, take a multi-vitamin and keep reminding yourself that you can do this. Also, you might want to talk to your doctor about stopping the pills if they are a prescription. I am a recovering Vicodin addict myself and I quit cold turkey. 47 days now and if I can do it, you can!

Tapering takes alot of willpower and works better if you have someone that can hold the remaining pills for you.  I had to go CT as i am an all or nothing type person.  You have to make the decision that is best for you........Let us know what you decide.         sara

Hey Dude!

It's really great that you cam eout of the old post and branched out on your own to let us get to to know you. I noticed you posted some two hours ago and got a response. You would surely have gotten more but Friday nights are always slow. Then you posted another question which was a continuation of the first question. Like I said, it is slow tonight so it is no big deal bt if it were a fast time and 26 posts were coming in at once, you would not get the attention that you deserve, It is hard to follow you when you go from post to post. And you will get conflicting advise. I suggest that you stay in your original post and continue to ask your questions there. That gives us the opportunity to get to know you, Makes sense,,,,,,,,,,,right?

I am trying to help you get all that you can get and I know from experience that is one way to do it. So try staying with the one post and be patient with the answers while members come in and out. And as I said, if you need anything give a shout.

It is late for me so I am off but will check back in the morning. Don't give up hope and stick around!!

Enjoy your night!!

Some people try tapering, some go cold turkey. It's your choice, but I would say the majority of list members would say cold turkey is actually easier.

assuming that you're determined to stop, I would just set the day and go for it!

Good luck and keep in touch
