hey gnarly where did you find that info I would like to read up on it.... please and thanks
and one other thing...you say his "statistics" are wrong...can you share which ones...I only really seenone statistic..so just wondering how many u seen...maybe I missed something
IMO a correct statistic on something like this is important...alot of people use this info to base there options on, so TrayCee I am not be rude by what I said, after rereading my reply it comes off as rude but is not inteeded to
well TrayCee why dont you share your "beliefs" on the statistics....I know nothing about methadone but always like to hear others "thoughts" on it.
your statistics are false, I'd be intrested to know where you found them.
Wow! I had NO idea how many 'STRINGS' are attached to methadone.. I now am REALLY concerned about my friend..
I think the 20 % got me the most...
YIKES!
Hello I am also on methadone and yes it has helped me lots but I agree that it makes you feel like your handcuffed to it and the clinic you go to. Because no matter how bad you feel, sick you are, broke etc...you have to go to clinic no matter what. The more mg your on the harder it is to ever get to lower dose or taper off. When I use to have to go daily it was so hard on me to have get up go to clinic and then work but I got my take homes so I only go once week. I am clean off of everything else and there is alot that you have to do to keep your take homes., Always pass clean urine screen. 2 groups month and only do 9am and talk your counslor 30mins once month and if you dont do ALL that they can take them from you FAST LIKE. So it can be scary worring about lossing them. If you have any questions feel free message me anytime. Holliee
wow only 20% huh? well may I ask why you are considering methadone? have you did your homework on it? please dont let anyone move you one way ar the other just listen to what everyone has to say and make a well informed desision.
hi and welcome to the forum....well thats a tuff question to answer...
its like liquid handcuffs you dont get high on it but it keeps you
pain free if uses for pain management (my case) ....
it also is a substitute opioid for stronger drugs like heroin
it gets you off the street and into a clinic and has saved
many lives....but in the end it turns evil and it can be
a real SOB to get off of...if it is used only for a short time
and only in a low dose it can be therapudic
but most people wind up on it for yrs and
acording to the clinic only 20% will ever be free of its grip
im not an advocate of it....I used it for 6 1/2yrs for pain managment
it took 8 1/2 mo to get off of and was difficult to say the least
you can get off it ....many here have but you realy got to want it bad
good luck and keep posting
