I know it is hard. But if you taper down to shavings, literally, it shouldn't be all that bad. However, by january you will have had been on it for a while. And that will make the difference in your w.d. If you are down to 16mgs, go lower now. It shouldn't be all that bad. For me, when I was on it, I didn't need that much every day. I started out with 16mgs a day. One in the AM and one in the PM and i was addicted to about 12 80's a day. (oxy's). And sometimes I would go up to 15, and a few times I took 20 in one day. I was seriously addicted. I could NOT get out of my bed without taking 5 80's in the morning. Before bed, every night, I would lay out 5 80's and a cup of water and I would set my alarm for one hour before I had to actually get up. I would eat all five, after chewing them, and wait till they kicked in. Then I would get up and start my day. Taking 2-3 80's here and there thoughout the day. So I was pretty addicted. And my dr.put me on 16mgs a day. After three days, I was down to 8mgs. I kept going down and tapering as much as I could. I took the sub for a total of like 27 days and I tapered down to less then 1mg and took that every other day. Then I took it every 3 days. I waited until I could sleep 4-5 days, without taking anything. I had w.d, but not as bad as before.
Sub is strong and powerful. When I first took it after my husband died, I was taking about 8mgs a day, and I did that for a month, then went down to 2mgs a day and stopped and the w.d was the worst I have ever had to date. I would start your taper now. Get down to as little as possible and try to come off. Go down every 5 days until you are taking it every other day. Stretch it out as much as you can.
Good luck and we are here for you if you need us...

I had the weird leg weakness/numbness. Even fell down like an idiot a few times (lol). One of the strangest sensations I've ever felt.. walking along, feeling like my legs are not attached to my body.. I dont know WHAT causes it as I never had it before.. but yes, it does go away. Each day, little by little. I was duped into the "subs the best thing ever" lie (for ME it was a lie - for others not so much) in the same way--went on sub website... not this one.. and I too would have NEVER opted for the sub had I known what the wd is like (again, for me). I started on 16mg and stopped at 1mg and dragged myself into work on the 10th day. It wasnt easy but I mushed through it. You can too! If people in work have questions (mine did) a simple answer of Yeah, this is the worst flu ever.. will suffice. Good luck to you! I know, from having gone through it that it is hard but its possible and you can do it and its so worth it to be off everything!
u can do it girl...u r right that u were misinformed and they st6arted u at such a high dose that it is tough for u...but u will do it and posting helps others to know not to start sub at 24-32 mg etc..if their goal sub short term then tapering from their DOC a bit before sub to lower the sub dose can help..also if someone wants to avoid sub addiction and they are on a very high dose of oxy etc, knowing that they may have to feel some wd discomfort on the sub to keep the sub dose down and get off in the recommended time frame....doesnt seem like anything is painless....i am sorry that u were misinformed but u will lick this girl
hey there...my daughter did the sub and she tapered after 2 months and even got off at about 2 mgs....she did not have any problems. but she was only on it 2 months total. i think the real problems come when you stay on it for 6 or more months. i think since you just started on 8/5 that if you taper 2 mgs every 5 days you will be off very shortly. you should be okay. good luck and keep us posted.
