Methadone

Hey guys,

Sorry I haven't checked in, been sooo busy. Anyway, I need some expert help with this subject as I really know nothing about it. A very, very dear friend is going down hard. I have tried to help her but to no avail. She beleives I am not in a position to judge her or help her even though I am not in active addiction. She believes I am also an addict and just because I am clean I have no right to help her. In any event, her son is very dear to me. My godson. I was told by her neighbor that he was found in the middle of her street (2 years old) and when this neighbor brought him back to their house, his mother was asleep on the couch. I am sick to hear this. I love her but this little boy is everything to me. He is the son I do not have. My baby girls are my life, but he is too. So anyway, she was on oxy 80s and I believe she still is. But she has admitted to me she is now taking Methadone. She told me last night she had a few 80s to take and today was going to get methadone. What is the reaction when these two are mxed? Is it lethal? I thought methadone was to help with w.d. How is she taking it to get high? What does it do to someone. I did try it once, but it was back when David was alive and I drank ? He put it in water and dissolved it. At the time, it was to take away w.d. Which I think it did, but I def didn't feel high.

I don't want to see her kill herself. I am afraid to go to her parents. I don't know what to do.

been on pain meds for 12 years now, been on methadone for 3 yrs.  I am really tired of it.. Cant get out of the bed without atleast 40mgs.  how does anyone beat this?? what to do?

Always remember ( I beleive strongly ) that things always happen for reason. That always helps me het byaybe it will help u

Thanks guys. I have already called her mom. I don't have a choice I guess. I told her to give me a call after work. She just fought multiple myloma, so this should be nice for her to hear about her daughter and grandson. This is a nightmare. Its odd to be on the other side. Thanks again.

If she's taking methadone and oxy she could very easily od. Bc when ur on methadone and u take an oxy u won't feel the oxy bc of the methadone won't allow u to so then u take mor of the oxy to try and get a buzz,
on another note do something for the child. It sounds to me that the child is n a very dangerous place. That was one incident ( the child bn out in the street like that) how many other dangerous situations was that mid in that u don't know about?

this not really the best place to discuss how she is taking it to get high but I am with sara you have to put that baby first. Go to the parents if it were me honestly i would report it to dss . This child was found in the middle of the street .Somebody has to look out for his best interest .you care alot for him so you would be the best one to do it I know that puts alot on you but as you say you love this little boy. I dont know either what would happen if you mixed the two but being there both very powerful it couldnt be good

There is a very real possibility of a od combing methadone with oxy.. I agree with sara You need to speak with her parents.. sometimes we have to make a decision.. myself I would help the child.. I'm sorry you are in this position.. lesa

I cant answer your questions about the combination of the 2 drugs but i do have an opinion on the child.........I would be more afraid of what will happen to this little child if you dont go to the parents.  Hopefully your friend will stop this cycle and get some help but in the mean time this little one needs to be protected and taken care of.......sara
