Congratulations my friend...I've been away and your first post left me scared that you were doing c/t off high dose xanax. But you've come so far brother!! Yeah, take the last 2mg slow and it sounds like you didn't need it in the first place.
As newer meds are developed and proven for my condition, which MUST be treated lol I too plan to withdraw slowly and carefully from long term xanax which is currently indicated and keeping me functioning and working. But research into Bipolar and other disorders is under way in the pharmaceutical world and ALOT of promising new meds are soon to come out. I won't be the first to try them. I and the Drs treating me want to see real life side effects and results, but the sheer number of new meds for me is amazing.
Again, cut just a bit at a time and hold awhile..sounds like you'll be fine. Don't repeat the mistake, promise? God Bless Steve
congrats, keep going, it gets better.
but not easier.
Congratulations!! You're so right about benzo's being the hardest to kick. We have to keep putting it out there so people will know that you can't abruptly stop them. It can bring on seizures and in some cases death.
You're a success story and you should be proud. I remember your first post and you have come so far since then.
Please keep us posted......Take Care.....LS
