I was in your shoes 8 days ago. Three days into withdrawals is a bit much to expect anything yet. I was on day 5 and felt great, only to be back on the oxy roller coaster ride for a few more days afterwards. Right now for you every minute feels like an hour, and every hour feels like a day. I know! Im on day 12 and the past few days, has been a GODSEND. Last week I didnt want Christmas in my home, but by day 8 I was decorating. Hang in there, it WILL get better.
P.S. alot of people get addicted to tramadol, so by taking it, it may have prolonged the withdrawals. I cANT EVEN TAKE otc SLEEPING AIDS, IT MADE MY WITHDRAWALS WORSE.
I am on day 4 of oxy withdrawal and I finally had some sleep last night (4 hours) It's really rough-no doubt about it. Check out the Thomas recipe (if you haven't already) and hot magnesium drinks really help. Also-if you can get a scrip for clonidine-it cuts down the withdrawal symptoms by half. It still ***** but there is relief. Be careful with the tramadol-I've heard alot of scary stuff about it. Take care of yourself and keep on going-you can do it(:
I was considering clonidine, but after reading posts, I decided to NAY it. It can cause anxiety attacks, and I already was having them. Some people tolerate it, some dont, and again addicting. I want to be free and clean of all that crap. I only take Motrin for pain, and some natural aids for sleeping Isnt it nice to get four hours sleep? Last time I went thru this, 3 whole weeks of full blown withdrawals with a total of 35 minutes sleep the whole time! Then when the withdrawals stopped, another 3 weeks of getting some sleep here and there. man 0 man, what we do to ourselves. :)
Clonidine addictive? I swear I have read pages and pages of medical reports, studies, and talked with doctors and pharmacists. It is a blood pressure medication that was developed in 1950 and the single most effective med to help in opiate withdrawal. The anxiety you are talking about could be hypertension if the drug is stopped too quickly. The only side effects are sleepiness, hypotension (gotta watch your BP) and constipation. That's why it is so effective in preventing the diarrhea that comes with detox.
I am on day 4 of withdrawal...I don't think I could have done it without the clonidine.lulu you are absolutely right..as with any drug I've taken..lol good for me or bad..I researched it..drugs.com it does make you sleepy, but that'd better than jumping it of your own skin..and as I call it an out if body experience that the shakes, sweaty, can't stop moving, tossing and turning back and fourth every two seconds..yeah I'll take the sleepy side effect any day over all that s***.if you already had high blood pressure could be why you had a racy heart or panic attack, or a bad reaction to it..sometimes we freak our own selves out though not knowing what a new medication will do..not saying thats the case, but true at times.I would tell anybody goin thru this to get clonidine!
Well I messed up was on day 8 and heard alot of bad news that I will be leaving my baby boys for a while on a vop and did a half of 30mg roxy and now its the next day and feel like hell. cant believe i did that but the pain is worse and hard to deal with. Its like I just cant get a break.
My heart aches so bad knowing that my 2 year old cant stand to be without me for more than a hour now hes going to be without me for months the pain is so bad all I want to do is suppress it with pills. I think that is the hardest part of addiction is when something horrable happens all you know to do is resort to the drugs. Well im going to try to keep going and just take it as a slip up. Thank you all for your advise I do look forward to it, it does help to know there are poeple out there dealing with the same addictions.
