How long will the no energy last?

I got out of detox this past Sunday (it is now Thursday).  I was addicted to vicodins for three years taking only 3 10's or 7.5s (whatever I could get my hands on) only in the evening.  Then this past November I found doctors that would prescribe me 120 perk 10's so I began taking more.   My avergae was 10 a day sometimes more, usually NEVER less! I have to go back to work next Saturday, so i have about 10 days.  WIll my energy levels feel better by then?  Has anyone followed the amino acid protocol or Thomas recipe and found it to have any impact?  I have been drinking 5-6 bottles of water daily?!? Please give advice!!!

Well the neurontin and traxodone worked for both my husband and I.  He slept from 12-10 and I slept from 1-11.  I am now up making sandwiches and getting ready for a day at the beach with my family.  Not 100% energized but willing to make the effort.  For those out there worried about quitting...DON'T worry.  If you can do med. detox even better cause they get u through the hard part (with no cigs though....that stunk) but let me tell you I am now on day 11 and feel so much better.  Looking at life differently and now sleeping which helps tremedously.   I am so proud of us!!!

I detoxed in a facility with my husband but I am glad we did it together...too hard to watch him get f*cked up and me not ya know?  I do feel better today but it is now 6:30 and I am starting to drag but I did make a huge pot of sauce, went food shopping, cleaned my house and my stepdaughter's room and made a cake, and decorated for my hubby's b-day which is alot in one day especially during WDs.  I have 20 people coming over in an hour so I have to stay positive.  Try vit d, vit c and double your multi-vit as well as drink plenty of water.  I am still not sleeping but my dr. prescribed traxadone and neurontin and naproxen. I'll post tomorrow to let you know if it works.  I am sleeping but intervals.  I'll fall asleep at 11 and wake up from 1-4 then sleep from 4-6 then up till 8 then sleep till 10 which is alot of sleep but I'd rather have straight through as I hate staring in the dark only good thing is my husband's up too!  Find something to keep you clean...I want to be a mom

I am in the same exact boat.  I am 10 days clean.  I still cannot sleep and I have no energy at all.  I am trying to be patient and compassionate with myself.  I keep telling myself it will get better every day/week.  I detoxed at home with my boyfriend.  I am not sure that was good or bad!  I am still sweating and my stomach is just not right.  I cannot stop sneezing and goose bumps all the time.   I can say that I do feel a lot better today.  Any other suggestions would be great.

Thanks so much...I definitely feel a little better today.  Went to the doctor and she gave me a b12 shot and a script for neuorontin and traxodone (both non narcotic and non-addiciting) My husband's b-day is today and he wanted a pot of sauce and cake at home...which equals cleaning the house.  I'm using the cleaning the house as my energy as I am sweating my butt off!!  The docotr says I need to up my vit. d as well.  She says I should be able to sleep better with the two scripts she gave me.  Drinking lots of water seems to help but staying positive is the thing you need to do the most.  Today is day 9 for me and I never thought I'd make it this far!  Does anyone know how long the sleeping thing lasts?? My husband detoxed with me in a medical center and that was the easiest part of this whole thing!  I have no desire to take pills as I see what they did to my life plus I want to become a mom soon...doctor says my body needs a little weight on me (i dropped down to 95 lbs from 125) but then I should have no problem having a baby.  I just need energy!!  Any suggestions on the sleep or energy thing??  I am having a hard time getting supplements as I have no paycheck coming in due to time off for this process!!!!

ead fladdicts amino protocol in the health pages...and stick to it...exercise whether u feel like it or not to get the brain used to releasing endorphins on it's own again...people do not realize how important this one little step can be...a brisk walk...a hard wo kout...whatever...it will force ur brain to work and release happydorphins...if it works ur brain still works and it can recover.....i can not stress the importance of this enuf....just take my word for it and release endorphins daily or as often as u can...there is actually a scientific component to this believe it or not

Exercise will get the endorphin production going again. That helps mood and energy. Aminos, vitamins, supplements! A must!

i was at roughly that dose, and it takes awhile.  try the amino's though... they worked wonders.

please be PATIENT.  it will take a little time... but it DOES get better.

there's a book called The Mood Cure.  in it, there's a chapter on pain killer addiction (recovery) and what amino's to take after you quit.

when i took them after i quit, it was amazingly helpful for the energy issue.

i HIGHLY recommend it.

just remember right now, after 3 years of use, there is no overnight miracle cure.  however, i will say the amino's i mentioned (from the book) helped ALOT.  ALOT ALOT.

I'm pretty sure the aminos would make you feel a bit better. god, I pray it gets better within 10 days...I have 10 days off work to cold turkey soon. My average was 10-15 norcos (10mg vics) a day, until the last month its been 5 or 6 daily. about in the same boat I'd say... how'd your detox go? oh, I'd for sure keep drinking the water, and maybe some gatorade too. ttys!
